    a quick search... here's something from 2011




    nakakahiya... nandito sa pinas ang irri

    pero tayo pa pinaka dependent sa imported rice

    although hindi consistently top rice importer ang pinas year after year

    lagi nasa top 2 or 3

    china is top rice importer understandably coz they got 1.4 billion people

    it's amazing that PH with a population less than 10% needs to import more rice than china

    Flipo why did the US support Marcos Sr for so long?

    he declared ML in 1972 and it's not until 1986 that the US withdrew support

    bakit ok lang sa US naka batas militar ang pinas all those years?

    because during that time (cold war) there was a a battle of ideologies -- capitalism vs communism

    the US will support any country that's fighting communism no matter what kind of leadership the country has

    kahit corrupt dictator susuportahan nila basta anti-communist

    imposible hindi alam ng US na malaking wealth transfer nangyari from PH to foreign bank accounts / purchase of foreign assets

    imposible hindi alam ng US may human rights violations during that time

    pikit mata nalang ang US dahil may silbi sa kanila ung lider

    Tama naman yung sagot mo, tulad ni Batista ng Cuba, pati lider ng Vietnam, at si Marcos Sr,

    Pero natuto ang US dun sa dalawang bansa, kaya binitawan na rin nila si Macoy dahil may choice na pro democracy at di lang communist, Aquino, Laurel, etc

    Panoorin mo na lang maikli lang naman yung expanation.
