Ayala Land contract for Bacolod project OKd
MANILA - The Commission on Audit (COA) has approved a contract for Ayala Land Inc. to develop a 7-hectare property in Bacolod, weeks after ALI decided to pull out from the project.
The award had been questioned by Henry Sy's SM Group, which said it had submitted a superior offer.
ALI welcomed the COA approval, but it said its decision to back out from the project is final.
ALI instead it wants to focus on on North Point, a luxury residential project also in Bacolod.

Para saan pa ang damo kung wala na ang kabayo (ayala)?

Eh di ipakain sa kambing (sm)!

Genuine progress lost due to politics and grease money. Kanugon!

    Sad indeed...

And that project would have been walking distance from the house we stay in when we're at Bacolod.

mag benefit pa rin mga Negrenses kung SM ang developer. so far ok naman learning curve ng SM (kasi daming pirated from Ayala). kung ibabase sa SM Aura (SM Global City), pwede na rin

Masyadong balat sibuyas itong sm..ginamit ang korte pati implowensya ng COA hwag lg matuloy ang Ayala development sa pinakasentro ng bacolod city..what Ayala did in dropping its won tender is to simply demonstrate to sm and its cohorts they can have that piece of property if they want to..the backlash will be felt against them in so many ways..nadamay lg ang negros including lost opportunities for the whole province..palagay ko pag nag rebid jan malabong somali ulit Ayala..d pa rin masabi kung anong legal implications against the project proponent dahil it failed to hand over the project successfully to the winner..I can only assume Ayala is too professional to put too much burden against the people of Bacolod city..Ayala is in fact pushing for more development in talisay..many many thanks Ayala..

At least hindi maiiwan si Talisay ng Bacolod City and Silay (where the airport is). Sayang lang as the Capitol grounds would have been really nice to develop in a way Ayala does theirs developments.

    OT:
The urban development in Bacolod it actually heading north, when the airport was transferred, real estate prices incresed in the northern parts of the city (Bacolod), and those of Talisay and Silay. Resorts/nature parks are being privately developed inland as well, in the towns of Patag, DSB, Alangilan, etc.

    BTT:
Negros is in majority, STILL a monocrop province. Negrenses will always plant sugarcane, its the default crop of choice. Ganito kami noon, ganito pa rin kami ngayon. Some say that the sugar industry is as dead as Dillinger, I beg to differ. with the opening of the sugarcane harvest season this month, galinag-ting na ang ispading. Having said that, its a real shame that this fiasco had to happen. The amount of money involved was more than enough to give the whole of Negros island a huge commercial and economical boost.

Its what makes negrosanons bite their lips with frustrations..iba naman talaga dating at iniingatan ng Ayala yong mga landmarks ng is ang site be it greenfield or brownfield development. Take QI for instance. Intact yong old building and refurbishments are part of their SOW. Existing trees are preserve surrounded by greeneries where modern condo blocks are strategically positioned. Yong tinatanggal lg are eyesores gaya ng mga squatter colonies within the site limits.

Sorry SM you mean. .? their focus is pure and simple space utilization to generate per sq mtr of parking fees and boutique rentals..buhos ditto at don bahala na Kung magmukhang kahon at paliparan yan..megamall lost its architectural concept because of such business focus..still pinoys love malling besides it generates more job opportunities not full employment per se for mostly contractual sales staff..buti na yan kisa tambay..

An update on this old thread.

Ayala was thumbed down because of two (2) SMC board seats owned by SM (Henry Sy)

Anyone bright enough (in Bacolod politics) to connect the dots?

Mahilig uminom ng San Miguel Beer ang mga tao sa Negros. Kung natuloy ang Ayala, cut daw ang supply ng beer :D

Fed up ang Ayala ditto..it considered the delaying tactics childish and don't have the luxury of time..what about overhead expenses on consultant and other third party commitments..di biro biro yan and it cost money..that's what Ayala gets in trying to offer the best deal for the people of Bacolod..papano nman yong other side and Im not referring to sm..yong group nila gov maranon whose equally disheartened by all these sad developments..theres a lot of lessons learned..Kanugon..
in the mean time hoped you all enjoy Masskara festival this month of October..
