Narinig ko ito sa DZMM. Biglang pinigilan yung chopper ng ABS-CBN to hover above the interfaith rally venue.

The Air Transportation Office (ATO) on Friday suddenly declared a “no fly zone” in the Makati Central Business District where an interfaith rally attended by thousands of people is being held.
The "no fly zone" order prevents any aircraft from flying in the declared areas unless authorized by the military or police.
The order was implemented at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
The ATO said it was the Philippine National Police who requested that a "no fly zone" be declared in Makati where the rally is being held.
The National Capital Region Police Office said around 12,000 to 15,000 people converged in Makati for the rally which was in response to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ call for “communal action”.
However, the militant group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan said the crowd swelled to 75,000 while organizers from the Makati City mayor Jejomar Binay’s office estimated the gathering to be around 80,000 and 100,000 from the Makati City police.
Meanwhile, the online edition of the Philippine Star (www.philstar.com) reported that Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III hit the ATO for its obvious attempt to hide the truth that the crowd in Makati has swelled unexpectedly.
"Where is the freedom of information, where is the freedom of the press, where is our right to travel? Why has the ATO suddenly invoked a "no fly zone" in this area?," Aquino asked.

March 1st, 2008 05:08 AM #2as if the chopper can literally count the number of people there.
slight to moderate, moderate to heavy hehehe what a waste of chopper fuel
====
but some observations though, there were a number of checkpoints in some exit points sa Metro Manila yesterday. maybe there is a security threat or something kaya ginawa no fly zone

Looks like Binay doesnt have power over Makati's airspace.
He should have overridden the no-fly-zone order kung paninindigan nya ang pagka-hari nya sa Makati.

There were checkpoints. They've been in place since last week. I remember people in Laguna talking about it, they were having a hard time going to work because people were being turned back.
P*tsa talaga itong mga ito.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
as an aside, in the olden days, anyone who does not move 'ala luksa during Holy Week, especially...
