I hope there will be no major casualty numbers. Fijian soldiers hostage na kasi sumuko.
Be brave Filipino soldiers. I hope you guys will get out of this mess alive.

"Al-Nusra Front and other rebel groups took the Quneitra crossing, and heavy fighting with the Syrian army is continuing in the surrounding area," said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The capture is thought to be the result of a coordinated attack by the Al-Nusra Front - designated a terrorist organisation by the US, UK and Saudi Arabia - and Ahrar al-Sham, a leading member of the Saudi-supported Islamic Front.

MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino priest is part of the Philippine contingent which is currently in a standoff with Syrian rebels in the Golan Heights, according to Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak.
Tumulak, head of the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines, said that the Filipino chaplain was accompanying the country’s contingent under the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force.
However, Tumulak did not reveal the chaplain’s identity.
Chaplains “take care of the spiritual needs” of Filipino peacekeepers, Tumulak said in a post on the website of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines.
He explained that chaplains celebrate Mass inside military installations, hear confessions, provide spiritual counseling and spiritual direction.
Tumulak called on Filipinos to pray for the safety of the Filipino peacekeepers, who have been holding their line in two camps at the UN-controlled Golan Heights since Thursday after rejecting a demand from Syrian rebels that they surrender their firearms.

gago talagang mga teroristang ito wala ng sinisinoAl-Qaeda linked Syrian rebels have been accused of seizing 43 UN soldiers in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and trapped another 81 in the region, the UN has said.
The US said on Thursday it believed members of the Nusra Front were among those who captured 43 Fijian soldiers serving in the UN disengagement observer force near Quneitra, a crossing from Syria into Israeli-occupied territory.
A further 81 soldiers from the Philippines are understood to be under siege near Rwihinah. The Philippine government said its troops refused to give up their weapons when confronted.
The capture and standoff come after Syrian rebels, including Nusra Front fighters, stormed the Quneitra crossing on
Wednesday, sparking an exchange of fire with Israeli troops.
In a statement, the US said it condemned the action by rebels groups "including the UN Security Council-designated terrorist group, the Nusra Front", which is al-Qaeda's primary affiliate in Syria.
The UN Security Council said it held responsible "terrorist groups and by members of non-state armed groups".
The Golan Heights is a strategic plateau captured by Israel in a 1967 Middle East war.
Syria and Israel technically remain at war. Syrian troops are not allowed in an "area of separation: under a 1973 ceasefire formalised in 1974.
The UN force monitors the area of separation, a narrow strip of land running about 70km from Mount Hermon on the Lebanese border to the Yarmouk River frontier with Jordan.
It comprises 1,223 soldiers from Fiji, India, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands and the Philippines.
Austria, Japan and Croatia have all pulled their troops out of the monitoring force due to the deteriorating security situation and spillover from the Syrian war.
UN officials noted that troops monitoring the area have been abducted twice in the last year, but released safely.

At least may preview na ang china sa kung anung klaseng mga sundalo haharapin nila kung gusto nila ng giyera hehehe..
Maybe you should also think the Al-Nusra as battle hardened as well, since the Civil War has been going on for over 2 years...
i would have loved to hear this:
commander of filipino contingent to HQ: "Sir! We don't know how to surrender our weapons to them! Request permission to use our weapons instead, sir!"
but fight only if one has to.

UNDOF Commander to Phil Commander: "Surrender to save the Fijians!"
Phil Commander to UNDOF Commander: "NUTS!"
UNDOF Commander: "Nuts....hmmm...nuts"
:hysterical:
I can't help but be dumbfounded by the stupidity of this Gen. Singha. Give up your weapons, you won't be taken hostage. Just wave a white flag when you come under fire. How did he become a General?

Since goverment have practically included the military in the OFW state, what would be the next job sector that this country will export? This country have shipped almost all types of professions from laborers, all types of skilled workers & professionals, DH, drug mules, prostitutes, thieves, religious beings, real state agents even rebels (Joma & Misuari). It's only the politicians that are left simply because no country would ever want any of our crooks.:laughbounce:
^For once I absolutely agree with your wicked mind.
Sa CnC nga siguro nag-training undof commndr.

U.N. denies Golan peacekeepers ordered to hand arms to Syria rebels | ReutersU.N. denies Golan peacekeepers ordered to hand arms to Syria rebels
BY LOUIS CHARBONNEAU
UNITED NATIONS Wed Sep 3, 2014 6:49pm EDT
(Reuters) - The U.N. peacekeeping chief strongly denied on Wednesday allegations from the Philippines' army chief that Filipino peacekeepers in the Golan Heights were ordered to surrender their weapons to Islamist militants who had trapped them.
Filipino army chief General Gregorio Catapang said his soldiers had defended themselves against Islamist rebels last weekend in defiance of an order from their U.N. force commander to surrender their weapons, a move that would be highly controversial in the six-nation, blue-helmeted force.
The U.N.'s under-secretary-general for peacekeeping, Herve Ladsous, denied that any such order was given.
The back-and-forth underlines a rise in tensions in the U.N. peacekeeping force following weekend skirmishes with Islamist militants in Israeli-controlled territory on Syria's southeastern border.
Islamist fighters battling the Syrian army overran last week a crossing point in the line that has separated Israelis from Syrians in the Golan Heights since a 1973 war, the most recent escalation of Syria's civil war, now in its fourth year.
The fighters then turned against U.N. blue helmets from a peacekeeping force that has patrolled the ceasefire line since 1974. After 45 Fijians were captured on Thursday, 72 Filipinos were besieged at two other locations for two days by militants before they escaped.
The militants, believed to be part of an al-Qaeda-linked group known as Nusra Front, are still holding the 45 Fijian members of the United Nations' UNDOF Golan Heights force.
Catapang said that at one point while the Filipinos were trapped, UNDOF Force Commander General Iqbal Singh Singha of India ordered the soldiers to surrender their arms to prevent harm from befalling the captured Fijians.
Asked what order was given to the Filipinos, Ladsous replied, "Never to hand over weapons."
The order was simply "not to shoot," he said.
One U.N. official told Reuters that no force commander would order his troops to hand over weapons to rebels. If that were to happen, the official said, the commander would "be out of a job" since countries that supply weapons and materiel to the force would be reluctant to re-supply the mission.
Several Security Council diplomats said the issue of what orders might have been given was discussed on Wednesday in a closed-door meeting of the 15-nation body.
In that meeting, Ladsous expressed full support for Singha, diplomats who were present told Reuters. Ladsous later told reporters that Singha had "exercised good sound judgment all along" during the crisis.
Ladsous said the United Nations had not confirmed that the militants who attacked the Filipinos and are holding the Fijians belong to Nusra Front.
UNDOF troops were kidnapped twice last year and in both cases were released unharmed.
