MANILA, Philippines - Former Senate president and once defeated presidential candidate, Manny Villar, may run in the coming 2016 national elections, Sen. Antonio Trillanes revealed Monday.

"Sen. Villar himself is among those being considered as frontrunners for the top two positions in the government alongside other incumbent senators who are members of NP (Nacionalista Party)," Trillanes, a party-mate of Villar, said in an interview, alluding to Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano.

The two other NP members in the upper chamber are Senators Cynthia Villar and Pia Cayetano, the latter is set to “graduate” by 2016 while the former was ushered in to the Senate during the 2013 mid-term polls.

As to whether the NP will separately make the declaration is something to look out for, the senator said.

"Based on our latest conversation, our party leader, Sen. Manny Villar said the party will have to come up with a decision by December this year. There are a number of qualified candidates from the ranks of NP, so the next step is for the prospective candidates to express their interest so that they can be counted among those subject for deliberations or selection process,” he said.

Haha, hindi puwede dito theory ko nang lesser evil. Si brenda at villar na lang pag-asa natin.

Or si Duterte nga, para talagang ma-shake ang hardcore politics na bulok. Sana........ kaso madaming nasa taas ang sigurado hindi papayag na si Duterte manalo.
