MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Land Inc. said Thursday it and Makati Commercial Estates Association will spend P60 billion over the next five years to carve their Makati properties into six districts as it launches a "Make it Happen, Make it Makati" campaign.

The amount, about 95% to be shouldered by Ayala Land, is about a third of the company's total budget for the period, President Antonino Aquino said. Ayala Land's total budget this year, covering construction and acquisitions, is P37 billion, more than a fifth over last year's.

The purpose is to create "opportunities for all" to live, shop and be entertained and work in Makati, Meann Dy, head of strategic land banking, said at a briefing.

Ayala Land to spend add’l P65B to further develop Makati
This is on top of the P60B the company earlier committed for Makati’s redevelopment

MANILA, Philippines – Property giant Ayala Land Inc. is spending an additional P65 billion over the next 5 years to build new residential developments, office buildings and hotels in the Makati central business district.

The amount is on top of the P60 billion investment over a 6-year period that the company announced in 2012.

“Makati remains and will always remain as Ayala Land’s top priority… our largest source of value and our most important asset,” Ayala Land vice president Meean Dy said in a press briefing on Thursday, August 14.

The company plans to build 5 new hotels, 8,000 square meters of retail and office space, and 3,700 residential units in Makati, according to Dy.

The developments will rise in 3 key areas: the Ayala Center, Ayala Triangle Gardens, and a new mixed-use project called City Gate.

Phase 2 of Ayala Center will commence, covering the existing area of Intercontinental Hotel and its parking lot. Two new hotels will be built in the area – one of which will carry the brand Seda – along with two office towers, a business convention center, and a public transport terminal with retail component. The area spans 2.5 hectares, with 250,000 to 300,000 square meters of gross floor area.

Ayala Land will also start new developments within Ayala Triangle Gardens, including an 80,000-square meter high-grade office, and the 275-room Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

City Gate, a mixed-use project located at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Buendia Avenue, will also be constructed. The project will feature 81,000 square meters of office space, a 312-room Seda Suites Hotel, and 14,000 square meters of retail space.

Ayala Land president Bernard Vincent Dy said Makati was a vital asset accounting for 30% of the company’s net income. – Rappler.com

Drilon: PNoy never said he is seeking a 2nd term

MANILA - Senate President Franklin Drilon believes it’s now case closed: President Benigno Aquino III is not seeking a second term.

“The President did not say that he is for a second term. I was reading the transcript of the TV5 interview, there was nothing there that said that the President is interested in a second term.

"Malacanang has already said the President will not push for Charter amendments during his term. I think the issue is over. We keep on beating a dead horse,” he said.

He does not believe Malacanang is sending mixed signals on Aquino’s plans.

“For me, the signals are clear. Ask those who think there's a mixed signal. To me, Malacanang has said the President will not push for a Charter amendment,” he said.

Even the Liberal Party does not have an official stand on the issue, he said.

He denied LP members met to discuss Charter change.

Palace chaplain offers prayer for Aquino?s ?infinite? term | Inquirer News

“I’m just an ordinary priest. On a personal note, I hope our beloved President’s term will no longer end so that he can continue with what he’s started – that is to walk down the straight and righteous path,” said Tansip who officiated the mass for the 31st death anniversary of Aquino’s father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

This is one reason why religion should be taxed as they interfere with goverment. This priest believe Abnoy has the monopoly of righteousness so much so he never understood that SC already stated, what Abnoy has done on DAP is unconstitutional thus is wrong. Most likely this priest even believe he himself is not righteous thus only push for Abnoy. The pope should exorcise this stupid priest. :pope:

I agree. Yung units diyan nasa pangalan ng ibang tao. Pero ang nakatira, mga anak ni Noggy. Dapat diyan i-subpoena ang Rockwell at Register of Deeds. Tapos imbestigahan ng BIR yung tao na supposedly may ari ng Rockwell condo para malaman kung capable magbayad ng buwis. Tanungin din kung may lease contract between dummy and Binay. Malamang wala. Kung meron, baka di nagbabayad ng VAT sa rental payments.
