I'm guessing this post will be long... So please bear with me...

Having travelled different countries... Yes, Subway looks good... But do you really think we (The Pinoys) can maintain it?

We can't even maintain 3 MRT lines which can be viewed easily... Paano pa yung subway? Can you just imagine the heat kapag di gumana yung aircon? Smell if the toilets won't flush?

Second, I don't want to sound like a bad guy here... But in reality, we all do not want to leave our cars!

I tried way back in Erap's time, the MRT 3 was 40 pesos per trip and halos walang gusto sumakay... I started taking a jeep (1 sakay from our house until SM North, the jeep passes in front of our house!)

Then I tried leaving my car at SM North (flat rate beside Supersale??, sorry can't remember the exact name)

Then iniwan ko yung car ko sa Shaw Blvd (Flat rate din Shang noon)

Until a few months later, dinala ko din yung car ko sa Makati kahit traffic!

What the government needs to do is decongest Metro Manila. Provide incentives to private companies who will open offices far from the city.

It's time na mawala na yung "luluwas ng Manila para humanap ng work"

Tax incentives, subsidised utilities for company offices outside Manila... That's what we need.

+1 dont know why not one in our government came up with an idea/ways to decongest manila. Personally, im from ilocos and I work here in Manila. Why? Its because there are a lot of opportunities here. Its about time they should invest outside metro manila.

    Tax incentives=PEZA zone.
Subsidize utilities=mas mura naman talaga outside of metro Manila.

Talagang center of business lang talaga Manila.

You can't blame the investors na dito sa Manila mag tayo ng business nila unless manufscturing/factory then they have no choice but to go outside of Manila.

I don't know talaga if Meron solution diyan, mabilis Sabihin na ilabas Sa manila but you can't imposed on investors where they want to put their investment.

A good mass transport system ala Hong Kong. From South Luzon/North Luzon to Manila. Yan lang muna to encourage people to leave their cars outside the business districts.

well... LRT 2 and pinaka bago sa tatlo...

Pero just look at our LRT 1 and MRT stations. Madumi at madilim. Pagnabitiwan mo biscuit mo, walang 5 sec rule... Iiwan mo nalang.

Sydney and Japan willing mag-kotse until the train station tapos magtrain sila papasok sa City... Malayo kasi mga bahay nila...

Sa AUS, good example is Blacktown (dami kasi Pinoy dun)...
Ang ganda ng free parking nila beside the train station... By express train, 40mins ang byahe going to Sydney...

I remember several years ago about an news article on how efficient transportation system of the country pre-war.. we had trains going to antipolo, cavite, tram in manila... so efficient. then we have long haul to the north and the south. it's a pity we didn't restore it after the war.. the author believed it was the fault of President quezon due to his greed.. he wanted to rebuild the country on his own way.. thus, better for Filipinos to run the country like hell than to be admistered by the Americans.. as he predicted, we are really in hell.

Not sure that you can completely plan against the weather. The New York subways got flooded with the recent storms.

Feeling ko the planned subway is perfect....as a catch basin for floods. i share a fellow tsikoteer's pessimism regarding our ability to maintain it. Pagbabahayan lang yan ng Nandadamay este Kadamay
