Guys, share ko lang... since day 1 i've been using Petron Diesel Max as fuel on my Crosswind for 9.5 months. Last Friday, malapit na akong mag-empty and napilitan akong magrefuel from a Shell station with Diesoline Ultra.

psychological lang siguro. i had tried the diesels of the big 3... caltex, shell and petron, and even flying V and Total. although I'm on shell diesoline now (shell ang fleet card ko e), petron and shell diesel usually gives almost the same acceleration. ang alam ko na malakas humatak caltex diesel. I think it has something to do with the sulfur content. pinakamataas sulfur content ng caltex, if I remember correctly from our old board (sa ezboard). having a higher sulfur content gives more lubricity, but at the same time, more pollutant. ewan lang ngayon na shell has improved their diesel.

ang isa pang observation ko, when your tank is almost empty, parang mahina na hatak, then pag nag full tank ka. lakas uli ng hatak. siguro mas hirap yung suction ng fuel pag konti na laman ng fuel tank unlike pag puno, meron pang hydraulic pressure effect yung fuel sa tanke kaya madali ang fuel suction papunta sa fuel injectors.

    rsnald,

IMO, from Caltex to shell ako.... nung lumipat pa lang ako medyo di maganda ride at medyo visible ang usok pero after three straight Shell na karga ko ganda na and at the same time... "THERE IS NOSMOKE, GOING UP SPECIALLY YOU HAVE TO HAVE POWER"

kaya sabi ko kay Mrs... Shell na tayo wag Caltex

i agree with Lord rsnald and president boknoy. ive tried all three before and decided on shell diesoline also. i would say halos pareho lang ang hatak. may edge man siguro ang shell konti lang. pero pagdating sa emission, worst ang caltex. sa mileage naman, im now doing 10 to 11 km/liter city driving and shell lang lagi karga ko.

Just browse Shell Phil's website there you'll appreciate its effect better. Compared with the other local diesels in the market.

tanong lang po.. okay lang ba mix diesel.. shell fan kasi ako eh kaya shell diesel din gamit ko he.he.he meron kasi times na 1/4 na lang yung gas ko tapos sa caltex or petron ako inaabot.. so dun na ako minsan refill. may effect ba ang mix diesels...?

    marwen,

Ako I currently use Caltex since it's the cheapest of the brands along my daily route. I have previously used other brands on my Strada and they all perform the same.

Eto naman experience ko, I've tried each brand for a year at least before changing:

Petron - cleanest of them all but gives the least amount of hatak.
Shell - now with the Ultra, its as clean as Petron, but does not have the decrease in hatak.
Caltex - had the most power here, at the expense of usok.
Flying V - cheap diesel, but had a bit of smoke.

Among the 4, Shell has the cleanest service stations, followed by Petron, then Caltex, and the least being Flying V. I usually gas up on well-maintained stations.

IMHO, the appearance/maintenance/location of a gas station reflects the quality/content of the fuel that I'm getting.

Am currently using Shell for more than a year na, with a small bit of Petron whenever there's a need.

    Boss Chieffy!

Yes, mga stations ng Total magaganda, well siguro kasi bago, hehe... but I limited myself to the 4 stations I mentioned because I've tried using each for at least 1 year continuously. I've never tried Total so I did not comment on it. Well, nung bago pa ang Flying-V, magaganda ang stations, but most of them these days don't look too nice.

Well, aside from the station, I also take note of how the station attendants dress. If they are dirty and unkempt, then IMHO, the same goes for the fuel that they put in...

Di ba Shell yung nasa kanto nila sir bulldog? :D

Hmm... from what I observed, lahat tayo kanya-kanya ng POV pag dating sa fuel in our rides. But the more I noticed, kung ano yung mas convenient sa work and house natin dun tayo nagpapakarga.

IMO highway gas stations are better.
