I just read na dapat daw every 30k kms ay pa-repack ng bearings. Is this true? My 2 1/2 year old Strada has already logged in 45k kms at di pa nagagalaw ang bearings. What do you suggest repack na bearings or hintaying tumonog at masira?
Thanks.

October 1st, 2003 06:24 AM #2Isuzu repacks every 20k km, Toyota highly recommends every 20k km too. I think every 20k- 30k km would be the minimum requirement.

Mas makakamenos po kayo pag alaga sa grasa ang axle bearings. It's not necessarily how long it was driven, the main objective is HOW the vehicle was used or abused.
Based from our experience, we see old sample of bearing units either burnt or loosed rollers. Due to lack of grease.
Front bearings are easier dealt when repacking grease. Rear units need grease to be pressed inside to reach the inner set.

We have yet to encounter sealed type of axle bearings. Most of our axle bearings sold are paired cone/cup types.
But if you were pertaining to roller bearings which are sealed either with rubber or metal shields, these kind of bearings are sold with enough grease in it to last. Minsan sira na bearings may grasa pa sa loob. :D
