*xwind
pre, you need a loooooooooong stretch of road to get to 140KPH.
Pero I seldom do it. 100-110 kph lang ako, 120 if I need to overtake.
yup nakuha ko 130 before sa star hway after that di ko na ulit ginagawa mahirap na minsan lang disgrasya..........ngayon 100 na lang ..................

September 10th, 2003 02:10 PM #52x-wind,
nsa 15K ang set kasali na ang installation. medyo mahal nmn pero sulit na kc tipid pa sa crudo. i can do 22K/L nung na install ko.
rsnald,

For the mathematically inclined and geek at heart.... :D
just a little math trivia :D ... I found this article while browsing for explanations of gear ratios.
You can compute your estimated top speed pala based on your engine RPM provided you have the following data :
1. wheel data on rim diameter, width and aspect ratio.
#1 makikita mo to sa gulong mo
2. transmission gear ratios for the different gears.
3. gear ratio of the rear axle.
#2 & #3 you'll find in your car manual.
you then use the equation below to compute your
Speed (in KPH) = RPM x wheel radius /(Final gear ratio x 105)
example... for my XTO crosswind.
wheel data : Yokohama 205 /65R15
R15 = means 15 inches rim diameter
205 = means 205 mm width
65 = means tire height is 65% of width or = 205 x 65% = 133.25 mm height
to get wheel radius then
radius = rim diameter/2 + tire height
=(15/2) inches+(133.25/25.4) in
= 12.75 inches
transmission gear ratio data:
1st gear : 4.122 ..... etc. etc.
5th gear : 0.855
rear axle gear ratio = 4.1
to get final gear ratio... simply multiply rear axle gear ratio x transmission gear ratio
for example, in 5th gear, final gear ratio = 4.1x 0.855 = 3.5055
in 1st gear = 4.1 x 4.122 =16.9002 etc. etc.
to get your speed at 4250 rpm (redline ng XTO) in 5th gear then..
speed = 4250 x 12.75 /(3.5055 x 105)
= 146.7 or about 147 kph.
147 kph pala ang topspeed ng XTO at redline in 5th gear assuming no assistance from wind or downhill acceleration.
the computation is quite accurate. It correctly predicted my speed at 2900 rpm in 5th gear - 100 kph. yung ang RPM ko when i'm cruising at 100 kph. even in other RPM's the calculated and actual speed medyo nagtutugma.
oks ba or nahilo kayow? :D

i can attest to the power of the Trooper... nagouting kami last year ng office namin.. dala ko yung Honda City ko... going back to manila from batangas... we got in the star toll... nagkaroon ng hidden understanding na hatawan na... e di tapak sa silinyador... at 165KPH (on my speedo).. magkatabi pa rin kami ng trooper... gulat ako dun.. considering.. minamaliit ko pa sya nun dahil diesel.. e kung umarangkada eh kala mo gasolina....
I know.. i know.. 1.3L lang ako... but still.. that is one hell of a diesel engine!!!.. BOW ako dun.. i had to back off.. natatakot na si kumander at floaty na yung city at speeds above 150KPH.

September 11th, 2003 11:51 PM #60dun sa calculation ng top speed mali pa rin yun cuz if i use that, since 38 ang gulong ko compared to the 31 ng standard patrol dapat top speed ko 10 kph faster than an ordinary patrol but then reality kicks in and makes me realize that the bigger my tires the more torque it takes to turn plus the fact that bias ply ang gulong ko = more torque needed. then add to that the fact that bubbles looks like a box, forget aerodynamics, then the greater fact that i'm about 1 ton heavier than a standard patrol. all in all it adds to hmmm... a 90 kph top speed.
not all vehicles can reach the redline at fifth gear. buti kung downhill.
Are they on track to surpass last year's sales?
