Dear Guys:

We used to do speed trials before to check the accuracy of our speedometers. I think its still applicable today because of possible errors that can creep in while your trying to measure your speed.

You know things like parallax vision, thick needles or speed markings, bad eyesight and sometime plain speedometer inaccuracy, which I am sad to say is not uncommon.

Have a guy with a good stopwatch sit on the passengers seat beside the driver. All the driver has to do is drive, not watch the speedometer. The driver chooses his stretch of road for the test and informs the measurement guy.

The driver brings the vehicle to top speed and the other guy waits until they are beside a kilometer post and starts the stopwatch. When they pass the next kilometer post he stops the stopwatch.

The actual speed is the distance covered (1 kilometer as measured by the DPWH) divided by the elapsed time (convert the minutes and seconds to fractions of an hour).

This is the best and one of the most accurate ways of determining your actual top speed.

kapag nasa expressway ako, normally 140kph na ang takbo ko. yung 170kph, sinubukan ko lang kung kaya

01 frontier 2.7S on 14" rim stock tires... the speedometer reading was 165 kph sa NLEX (Snf-AC stretch nuong okay pa ang daan at walang ibang sasakyan gaano)...same vechicle a little pass 170 kph sa STAR (downhill din) but grabe ka panget ng daan mavibrate pag ganun kabilis...an isuzu 2.8 turbo DI was following me but was not able to overtake so I would assume we had the same speed during that downhill run.

170kph. Then I retracted the side view windows and turned off the A/C switch para mag jump to 180kph. I think it could have gone more kaso I ran out of road space.

160kph pa lang pero my sister who was riding with me was getting scared so I couldn't push it any longer.

Grabe naman yan Sir Otep 200kph, max speed ko palang 170kph sa civic vti 5 kami sa loob kapit na sa daan, sabay tanong ng father ko...
