Hmmn, sabi dito long term storage so dapat pag tinabi hindi na gagalawin. How about filling the engine with oil up to the brim, disconnect the batteries, elevate the car, remove the tires para hindi mag-otso, have it greased sa ilalim, remove the high tension cables, spray pepper and salt (just in case bikolano ang rat ehehehe). Clean it, wax it and cover it.

Sa planta namin if we will keep an engine for a long storage, we add some anti corrosion chemical which is compatible with the oil na gimagamit namin and start the engine letting it to circulate for 10 to 15 minutes.Kung di talaga sya gagamitin, we normally loosen up the rocker arms so walang tension ang valve springs mo to save your valve springs. It will also keep your intake and exhaust valves closed to avoid moisture entering your engine kasi yan ang mag cause ng corrosion in the long run. Then you should seal your air filter compartment but before doing that, if you can find some silica bags, put one bag in your air filter compartment to absorb moisture build up. Sa fuel system naman, meron din anti-corrosion product kami nilalagay. You mix this product with diesel ( I just don't know kung meron na sa gasoline ). Then you start your engine let it circulate for few minutes. That will keep your fuel lines, injectors and other components free of corrosion. Sabi nga ni jimaroquai, disconnect your battery and elevate your car removing your tires and to remove tension to your shock absorbers and springs to save it. I think the name of that product is CORROLESS. Maybe you can check their website, just type CORROLESS sa google.

Hehehe... lagyan na rin ng Racumin.

Rat infestation is a serious thing with stored cars BTW. They chew up wires and hoses and can even get in as far as the a/c system in the dashboard... not that great.

six months? ok, first try to unhook the batteries. but have to change all the lubricants. if possible synthetic. lift your vehicle, to avoid strain on the suspension and tires as well. cover it with a good brant of car cover, but have it waxed (3 step exterior detailing).

sir, is this the dmax you're referring to? i'm not sure but the turbocharger might get rusty.

That's why it's needed to mix that anti-corrosion chemical which is compatible with the engine oil to coat those spaces which will not be lubricated during long storage. Turbo impeller and inner housing mostly made from materials that doesn't rust easily. But then he can always ask the mechanic to check it prior to running the engine again after long storage period.

mukhang malaki ang magagastos mo d2 at matrabaho -- storage maintenance, parts dis-assembly and assembly again when you come back.

why don't you endorse it to your trusted relative or friend to use it every once in a while. sabihin mo na lang "super ingat" and its their responsibility if something happen on it.

Cardo... do you have a trusted relative / friend that can at least "exercise" your vehicles during your absence? The extended period is quite worrisome...
