the owner's manual of the 2004 isuzu dmax has very little information about its turbo intercooler.
can any one please give advice on the care and maintenance of a turbo-intercooler.
and the intercooler, it looks like an a/c evaporator. does it need cleaning too.
thank you

cool down for 2-5 minutes before shutting your engine, or get a turbo timer.

Remember to warm up and cool down.
Try not to rev it too much before it's warmed up.
and as kimpoy said, cool down the engine before shutting it off.
The longer and faster you've been running, the longer the cool down period (as i remember).

May 22nd, 2004 03:14 PM #5Yung intercooler itself just needs periodic cleaning more for maintaining its efficiency in lowering the incoming air going to the turbo. The cooler the air going to the turbo, better performance. Walang masisira sa loob o sa ilalim. Yung suggestion for cool down is for the turbo itself. Oil kasi ang naglu-lubricate nung turbo internals so you need the oil to circulate for awhile to cool down before shutting down the engine

what is the best way to do the cleaning, and what kind of time interval in between cleanings would you suggest?

May 23rd, 2004 02:50 PM #7I do it everytime pag nagpa engine cleaning ako which is every 3 months. Brush and detergent lang ginagamit. Removing it would be better
