ei guys! was finally able to upgrade my exalta to a 95 nissan safari!
just traded it in and added cash, got great value on both, thank God

in case you were wondering about the subtitle, it's not about pacquiao & erik morales,it's a reference to a certain 'seedy' character in a thread i started in the goon squad forum...hehe

anyways, t'was a blessing in disguise cause the unit i got was in waaay better condition than that one, aside from much lower mileage that was untouched...just wanna update those who followed that thread and expressed their support...thanks guys!

so here are some pics in the car gallery:
    http://tsikot.yehey.com/gallery/show...cat/500/page/1

what i've had done so far:
change oil (conoco semi, 11 liters!), oil & fuel filter, tint (mahal!), alarm, 3M undercoat, stebel nautilus ....also had 2 buy side mirrors & 1 tail light...loaded w/ biodiesel of course!

what i like:seating capacity of a van, looks and performance of an SUV...R-E-S-P-E-C-T on the road from jeepney & bus drivers!

cons: waay too big, can't park where i used to, can't drive like i used to...

overall, very happy & satisfied, can't wait to go on an out-of-town trip w/ the family...

safari owners, has anyone changed the steering wheel to one of those momo ones?i find the stock way too big.also, what's your consumption?coming from a matic, my 1st coupla days i did only 5km/l...now that i've adjusted & loaded biodiesel, it's 6-6.5 city...is that normal? any other suggestions on how to improve it? do you have difficulty shifting gears sometimes? (it takes effort going into 1st from tym to tym, maybe its just me,haven't driven a manual in 2 years!) many thanks again to everyone, God bless!

    i'm green with envy!!! haha

congrats on your new ride. aussie drivers are driving that truck across the barren australian continent and racking up hundreds of thousands of kilometers on one engine - v.v. realiable. nearly indestructible, those patrols...they're designed to be punished kasi. pay attention to the cooling system lang, and the engine will last longer than the body shell.

i suggest you change the oils as frequently as possible. use the best fuel and the best consumables you can buy to keep it running...because for a car that big, that brutal, all illusions of economy are out of the window na. you'll get power, reliability, the "angas" factor...smaller vehicles will get out of your way when you tailgate them (scary getting an assful of patrol grilles in your rearview when you're riding a corolla, hehehe).

sir glennster, local.i actually owe you big time.i brought it to ronald before buying just as u said, and he gave me the go-signal saying everything was in good condition except for a "gasket leak." gas shocks pa. i was actually there yesterday, had them change my fuel filter. they also grounded it to the body cause na-disconnect na. the "leak" also turned out to be just due to a missing oil cap cover from the previous owner w/c led to oil leaking down the engine. they did a great job, very honest pa!*i'm sure kung casa yun kung ano-ano na chinarge sa kin.

    niwde11,luap,
    thanks!

    wrcastro,
just right!hehe.PM ko na lang sa yo.it's also important that the trade-in value i got for the exalta was very good, hindi kc buy&sell ung shop kundi autolending.i think the owner liked my exalta for his personal service that's why =D

    volts,bluebimmer
i was on edsa the other day, there was a revo police car in front of me, ginawa ko tumutok ako sa likod nya (not too close though) from crame to makati, kunwari escort ko! hehe! i'm on the lookout lang, baka me tumutok sa kin na lexus SUV, ako naman mag-mukhang escort nya!herher

ronald is sir glen's main man sa shop nila sa kamias, just check his sig for the addy.dinala ko there cause they maintain sir glenn's "fleet" of SUVs and cars, so medyo expert na sila. very knowledgeable and friendly, tapos me mechanic din for the actual work. motor parts & accessories din so diretso na, no more hassle of running off to banawe for this or that part. i find their prices lower pa nga then regular banawe shops

usually kc when i've meetings na formal i wear my driving shoes and keep the leathers under my seat.i just change before getting off. with this steering wheel, di ko maabot ung shoes nor my feet, it blocks everything!

sir wulf...thanks din for trusting us. i hope maenjoy mo yan...out of town mo pag na check mo na halos lahat para walang ka hassle hassle.pag may problem ka dont hesitate to let them check it out first bago ka bumili at kung kailangang kailangan talaga bilhin ang piyesa if ever.

Parang wrong timing lang since tumataas yun presyo ng gasolina then you decided to buy an SUV in exchange for your exalta. Don't get me wrong, i respect your preferrence pero just something to think about. Pero kung kaya mo naman e walang problema.

been recently going on out of town trips kc w/ some of our clients for photoshoots...kakahiya coz either siksikan kami or they bring their own car...great timing din coz 2 days after i got it my balikbayan cousin & her family visited us,so 2 families of four kami plus my mom kasyang kasya going all over the metro...plus, gas is at P38, diesel at P 33 (PUV lane ako sa Seaoil..hehe)...so P100km on my matic sedan is P475, on the safari assuming it's 6km/l that's P549, P74 peso difference lang! i don't know about you guys but for me that's more than worth it

wala na kayong fleet kasi wala nang gagamit!hehe.i'm sure your starting to build one where you are right now...salamat ulit for the help.pati biodiesel dun din ako kumukuha e...

guys, not being sipsip or anything, but honest AND knowledgeable shops are hard to find nowadays.kaya kahit madami mas malapit na shops and kahit medyo traffic dun sa shop ni sir glennster, i still go out of my way there...sa shop near my place pinapalinis ko ung MAF sensor nung exalta tapos the head mechanic was insisting wala daw MAF sensor...who would i believe?tsikoteers like niky or their mechanic? ayun, brother ko na lang nagtanggal and naglinis after i showed him the thread here, mahilig kasi siya mag-kalikot e.doctor kc...hehehe

yup, ronald knows his stuff, he can even give you some tips. Pag malapit kayo sa Kamias area its worth a visit, kahit na malayo. Dinayo ko shop nila just to buy 2 pair of bulbs.
