ei guys! was finally able to upgrade my exalta to a 95 nissan safari!
just traded it in and added cash, got great value on both, thank God
in case you were wondering about the subtitle, it's not about pacquiao & erik morales,it's a reference to a certain 'seedy' character in a thread i started in the goon squad forum...hehe
anyways, t'was a blessing in disguise cause the unit i got was in waaay better condition than that one, aside from much lower mileage that was untouched...just wanna update those who followed that thread and expressed their support...thanks guys!
so here are some pics in the car gallery:
http://tsikot.yehey.com/gallery/show...cat/500/page/1
what i've had done so far:
change oil (conoco semi, 11 liters!), oil & fuel filter, tint (mahal!), alarm, 3M undercoat, stebel nautilus ....also had 2 buy side mirrors & 1 tail light...loaded w/ biodiesel of course!
what i like:seating capacity of a van, looks and performance of an SUV...R-E-S-P-E-C-T on the road from jeepney & bus drivers!
cons: waay too big, can't park where i used to, can't drive like i used to...
overall, very happy & satisfied, can't wait to go on an out-of-town trip w/ the family...
safari owners, has anyone changed the steering wheel to one of those momo ones?i find the stock way too big.also, what's your consumption?coming from a matic, my 1st coupla days i did only 5km/l...now that i've adjusted & loaded biodiesel, it's 6-6.5 city...is that normal? any other suggestions on how to improve it? do you have difficulty shifting gears sometimes? (it takes effort going into 1st from tym to tym, maybe its just me,haven't driven a manual in 2 years!) many thanks again to everyone, God bless!

i'm green with envy!!! haha
congrats on your new ride. aussie drivers are driving that truck across the barren australian continent and racking up hundreds of thousands of kilometers on one engine - v.v. realiable. nearly indestructible, those patrols...they're designed to be punished kasi. pay attention to the cooling system lang, and the engine will last longer than the body shell.
i suggest you change the oils as frequently as possible. use the best fuel and the best consumables you can buy to keep it running...because for a car that big, that brutal, all illusions of economy are out of the window na. you'll get power, reliability, the "angas" factor...smaller vehicles will get out of your way when you tailgate them (scary getting an assful of patrol grilles in your rearview when you're riding a corolla, hehehe).

sir glennster, local.i actually owe you big time.i brought it to ronald before buying just as u said, and he gave me the go-signal saying everything was in good condition except for a "gasket leak." gas shocks pa. i was actually there yesterday, had them change my fuel filter. they also grounded it to the body cause na-disconnect na. the "leak" also turned out to be just due to a missing oil cap cover from the previous owner w/c led to oil leaking down the engine. they did a great job, very honest pa!*i'm sure kung casa yun kung ano-ano na chinarge sa kin.
niwde11,luap,
thanks!
wrcastro,
just right!hehe.PM ko na lang sa yo.it's also important that the trade-in value i got for the exalta was very good, hindi kc buy&sell ung shop kundi autolending.i think the owner liked my exalta for his personal service that's why =D
volts,bluebimmer
i was on edsa the other day, there was a revo police car in front of me, ginawa ko tumutok ako sa likod nya (not too close though) from crame to makati, kunwari escort ko! hehe! i'm on the lookout lang, baka me tumutok sa kin na lexus SUV, ako naman mag-mukhang escort nya!herherLast edited by wulf; April 28th, 2006 at 11:41 AM.

Better stick with the larger steering wheel... malaki naman yung sasakyan.
Thank you for all the comments and insights. After evaluating everything, which included...
