TIA.Originally Posted by jaeger
Bagask kasi emission test ng '99 Starex ko last April 2005 (opacimeter score was 3.2, passing is 2.5) then I saw this thread and a similar thread dun sa kotse.com so I did the carbon clean routine on my Starex in July 2005. The improvement in throttle response was very noticeable-parang dating VTi ko yung acceleration nya after carbon clean (sarap ihataw).Originally Posted by falken
It was only after the carbon clean that I discovered the wonders of our CME biodiesel; so I started using biodiesel only then (July 2005) to keep the fuel delivery system of my engine perpetually clean. I load 1-liter of biodiesel every half tank of fuel so my blend is whereabouts of 3%.
On my emmission test last April 2006, yung opacimeter score ng Starex at 3,000 rpm was 0.48 and at 4,000 rpm the score was only 0.55 (a far cry from 3.2 last year)
Now with regular biodiesel use, I don't think carbon clean is necessary anymore (my opinion), coz they do the same job of cleaning your engines fuel delivery system.
Jaeger posted the thread below on 07-07-2006 and I am quoting it again because it is very relevant.
Before you spend 2,500 to 5,000 pesos for a carbon clean, TRY CME (coconut methyl ester) BioDiesel first. Popular brands are BioActiv, Envirotek and Estrol.
With the full implementation of the BioFuels Act next month (May 2007), all diesel to be sold in the Philippines will be pre-blended with 1% CME/BD.
Kung mausok yun makina mo, before you spend lotsa money on Fuel Injection System repairs, calibration and/or Carbon Cleaning -- TRY a 2%, 5% or higher blend of CME/BD to flush your Fuel and Combustion System. (or ADD more CME/BD than what is pre-blended.) You might only need to spend 75 to 150 pesos to get better results.
Doing so, also helps produce cleaner emissions. Read more about CME/BD in the BIODIESEL RULEZ forum and post your diesel Fuel Mileage or Fuel Consumption in the "WHAT IS YOUR DIESEL FUEL CONSUMPTION?" so we can track the fuel savings that 1% CME/BD usage will produce.
a very informative thread.
i think i'll just bring my paj to doc diesel for a checkup--

doc diesel, (or anyone)
Pwede ba ito sa mga CRDi engines like the Fortuner? Mine is around 9K pa lang pero kung magandang pang maintain ito, Im thinking of doing the Carbon Clean after 10K checkup. Is this advisable or economical for brand new engine?
We are located in Bulacan, meron ba malapit dito?
doc:
did you heard na ba carbon clean thru vaccum valve? pareho lang ba e2 dun sa thru fuel system? alin kaya mas effective? This procedure daw kc is thru the air intake yata, so d lang yung fuel injection system hanggang combustion chamber ang nililinis, but pati yung mga carbon deposit sa exhaust manifold until exhaust pipe tip.
saan pa ba may carbon clean services near the visayas avenue/tandang sora area?
doc question lang...plan ko kasi mg patune up..ano mas advisable??tune up muna then carbon clean or the other way around..carbon clean muna then tuneup???
saan ang carbon cleaning sa Angeles? where is Dekra located? or any other shop that you would recommend for carbon cleaning.
hindi naman mausok ung car ko, my milleage is 119,000km na. my car is vti '96 A/T, does it need to be Carbon Clean?
though i really feel acceleration is degrading and fuel milleage is dropping.
one more thing, last month naging mausok ung car pero due to "singaw sa cylinder head" pero napa-ayos na pina-machine shop na namin.

Hi guyz, first time ko mag post dito sa tsikot. May problem ako, I and my family have 2 Sorento CRDi models. I plan to have my Sorento carbon cleaned at lagyan ng Wonderlube and if that still doesn't make my Sorento better then I'll demand na palitan nila yung makina.Would you believe na goyo kami ng mga taga Wheels. We asked for our stock grille to be changed to a BMW grille, pwede naman daw KASO 25,000 pesos at di namin pwede makuha yung stock grille namin, company rule daw nila!? Eh from what I remember I paid the Sorento as a whole kaya dapat I have legal ownership sa stock grille. Ang sabi ng mga wheels para daw may discount ako sa BMW grille which in the end wala naman dahil 25k pa rin ang benta nila.
I'm from fairview, commonwealth... saan po pwede magpa carbon flush at bumili ng wonderlube? Salamat.![]()
