blowby is more of oil coming out in the oil cap than smoke. yung smoke is an early indication that it is going into that direction. now, yung oil that splatters out is what you need to observe. what you do is to put your palm on top of the oil cap while on idle. if you see small polka dots [like sign pen dots], ok pa yan, pero if you see bigger dots [like pentel pen dots], that will already give you more or less the story of your engine. compression testing it will bolster that fact, if ever.

Yung Injector overhaul 1 whole day.
Kasi yung PAJ ko bago ko CARB Clean wala naman usok so no difference as far as smoke belch is concerned (rev up to 5k rpm for 30 secs no smoke)
Papa full tank pa ko and drive around then measure.
IMHO, any diesel engine revved more than 4K will really smoke, and revving is not that way to do it but by gradual acceleration...
the best way to get the most mileage for your full tank is to go on long drives. city driving mileage will give you low readings like what I had sa Mitsu. Adventure ko last year.
sir doc diesel,
what causes blowby ? Am really curious I have the maintained the car very religiously changing the oil every 5k even using the mobil 1 fully synthetic and still change the oil at 5k interval starting at its 10k mileage. Can you enlighten me Thanks
At walang usok so i guess ok pa engine. This was before carbon clean.
By the way your brother dave was very accomodating. I'm recommending Betan to my other friends.
update na rin ako. i went to Betan Davao with the list of things to check that Doc Diesel gave me. they said, to be safe, i should leave it with them for two days. drop off ng umaga today and pick up ng hapon the next day. since i did not have two days available, i will do it another time na lang.
after betan i went to CarAsia na hawak ang mitsu davao. test drive ng service technician nila. sabi nya, ok daw ang acceleration and power. they said that i should check the speedometer, kasi baka off na daw kasi digital ito nad baka may problema. absent ang electrician nila, so di nila ma-check.
i will get out my gps later and double check my speedometer.
by this time, saan kaya ang location ng mga shops that offer carbon clean?
within this thread mentioned na ang betan in makati, caltex sa e rod., then outside of mm there's betan davao, one shop in angeles, and another in la union...any others that have offered cc since?
AutoTechica along commonwealth near fairview they offer Carbon clean too. Although I'm not sure if they do check the engine condition prior carbon cleaning just like what betan calibration is saying. For 2.8L diesel engine, autotechnica charge 2,200 pesos. I haven't tried it there, i just inquired.
DOC DIESEL anung purpose ba pag binuksan ang oil cap during idling & rev. TY
this may be a stupid question but does this work for bikes?
i have a couple of bikes that i don't get to do de-carbonizing runs on and would like to clean out without having to blast down the road. 1 is a 4 cylinder 750cc with 4 carbs and the other is a 2 cylinder 1000cc with independent throttle bodies...
