November 2nd, 2006 12:33 AM #2I'm assuming your Prado is imported and has a fulltime 4wd system (no 2H setting).
4H - normal driving
4HL - normal to high speed off-road driving
4LL - low speed off-road driving. Low range basically doubles the torque and halves the speed of your vehicle. Great for slow speed off-road work, climbing extreme grades and very steep descents (you don't even have to touch the brakes)
