Small SUVs like the RAV 4 are not designed to conquer the toughest terrain, even in 4WD form. The 2WD has better acceleration and economy, and it is the ideal SUV for those who only want to ride high and get to some places cars can't. 4WD versions go a bit further, but if it's hardcore off-roading you're looking for, then get a Hummer or Range Rover.

spukulutum :: YUP!!! Fulltime 4WD. The 3Door RAV4 is quite quite fun to drive. I have a 97 model.
The 2003 RAV4 SV(?) is priced at P970k with 2WD, a 1.8L engine w/o VVTi and 2WD. Pwede na rin siguro. I have yet to see the interior trim though. But if its anywhere near the J series............ i just might sell some assets and bite (chomp!)
Guwapo talaga RAV4 (or RAV2 hehehe) compared to any other Sport Cute around.

based sa specs, konti lang naman difference ng 1.8L and 2.0L ng toyota. yung 1.8L engine used in the new RAV2 is taken from the altis ata.

kung sa bagay, mas magaan load ng 1.8L kasi two driven wheels lang...

Otep:: ahehehhehe!!! Sabi nga ng ilan.... "Its not when you get there but HOW you get there". Kaya when using the Paje, leave 20 minutes earlier!:lol::lol:
mbt::: i guess only a review can answer the question as to the 1.8L's power :D But at 970K, the SV looks less of a bargain compared to the CRV. On second thought, buying a 2nd hand 4WD RAV4 is better IMHO. Guwapo ang Gen2 RAV inside and out....... but the 3Door Gen1 is still "THE" ultimate highway toy for me
