March 23rd, 2004 09:38 PM #1mga sir,meron akong engine na 21r na nakaupo lang at bagong overhaul lang bago sya inalis..kung gawin kong project car ito anong pwedeng transmission kaya ang pwedeng magfit in dito na pwedeng gawing 4wheel drive,dba magiging mahina ito pag sinalpak sa wrangler typebody?at anong deferencial ratios naman ang kakailanganin? salamat po ulit sa tulong nyo

Yung transmission at differential ratios depende iyan sa laki ng gulong na ilalagay mo.
Sorry, medyo bopols din ako sa computation.
And how do you plan to determine the gear ratios of the tranny and differential? Most of them have lost their tags by the time they get to the surplus shop.

Subukan ko lang kung naalala ko pa yung diff gears for tire sizes:
31" = 4.11
33" = 4.37
35" = 4.62

Yung sa akin 5.29 on stock 31" tires. Parang aftermarket gears na.
4.88 ang sa V6 Pajero. Hindi kaya magdala ng 33" tires off-road (namamatayan kahit matic) kaya kinakabitan nila ng 5.29's.
Pero may gear ratios din ang transfer case at transmission mismo that you still have to deal with.

Yep, iba ang ang gearing factor ng transfer case and transmissions.
Common naman yata yung 1:1 sa High gear and 1:2 sa Low gear transfer case.

1:1 nga bago mag overdrive. Pero from before and after overdrive, iba ang gears. hehehehe.

the 221R engine may probably be have the same bell hosing for the 22R engine. you can fit the 22R tranny and transfer, this orig engine/tranny combo of some toyota 4wd's.
