How do you fill up in a gas station, considering that you have to perform a cool-down for your turbo? Lalo na when you are going to fill up in one of the stations along the north and south expressways after a high speed drive? Do you park first then proceed to the gas pump after cool-down? Or do you fill up with your engine running? Or perhaps you have another style?

i fill up while running the engine, although most stations have "turn off engine" signs. IMHO, theres nothing wrong with doing so. Ang stupid ay yung "turn off cellphone" sign! so so stupid :D

I also leave it running. I just don't fill up near gas powered vehicles. Patawarin niyo na lang ako mga kapatid.

Pwede naman gumamit ng cellphone sa gasolinahan as long as it does not contact with fuel fumes. So just close your windows.

Sir O:: Theres this urban legend that a Gas station supposedly blew up because of a guy used a cell while filling up. This is so not true. High frequency radio signals cant cause ignition. But then again, just dont use the cell, no need to turn it off :D

***baka may sumabog na gas station diyan mademanda pa ako

Pagkakaalam ko, it's the very minute sparks that MAY occur inside a mobile phone that causes the explosions.

So kailangan may continuity between the spark in the mobile phone with the gas pump. Yung gasoline fumes daw ang nagigigng medium of transport ng spark.

ako, park muna a few meters from the gas pump, cool down for two minutes with the aircon off, then move to the gas pump without revving the engine too much. fill up with the engine off (sorry, am a stickler for order).

however, i rarely gas up after a long drive, as i can make it from QC to Tarlac and back on a single tank, with lots of fuel left over. yun lang naman ang regular long trip ko.

mbt:: yup yup! human wireless communications are almost exclusively RF (radio frequencies). Iba iba lang po ang frequency. Ang delicadong radio waves ay yung sa Microwave oven ninyo :D Trivia:: the microwave is just an 'accidental' discovery when scientists were researching for a more efficient Radio Frequency (microwave, duh). Similarly, Microwaves antennae can be found on top of buildings. they provide efficient point to point terrestrial data comms. BEWARE OF YOUR MICROWAVES

sir O:: Veryvery small chance lang po mangyari yon.... i mean, a spark in celphones. Mas malaki pa ang chance na meron spark caused by faulty electricals sa car :D The standard cell uses only 5V+, very small ampearage. Not really spark causing :D

di ba mas malaki yung chance na yung alternator at clutch ng aircon makagawa ng spark?

fierari:: opo... mas malamang pa mag cause ng spark yung alternator for the simple reason that its an electric motor :D ang cell po walang moving parts or parts which could cause sparks. But be careful peeps. sa makati ata bawal mag cell while filling up :x

I fill up with the engine off. Pag diesel gamit ko i dont shut it off, mas malaki kasi chances of igniting the gasoline fumes while filling up on gas engines dahil meron itong high voltage arcing na nagaganap sa distibutor ng makina pag umaandar.
Mainit lang nga dahil walang aircon pag nagpapagaso!

IMHO, on celphones while filling up gasoline, me chance na mag ignite ang gasoline fumes especially pag naka rolldown ang mga windows ng sasakyan, pag nag ring ang cellphone na naka on ang vibrate feature nito, dahil sa small electric motor ng cellphone vibrator na nagproproduce ng spark while vibrating.
Wala pa naman yatang conclusive evidence regarding this incident, for me i turned off my cellphones vibrate mode. Dahil nakakalimutan ko namang i-off ang cellphone ko while filling-up.

Guys tama kayo medyo maliit ang percetage na mag caused ng spark ang cell phone. But our Company send us a very strong memo regarding using of mobile phone while filling up gas. That is due to one accident happened in our Gas station. Kung makita nyo alng picture talaga baka hindi kayo maka paniwala pano nsunod yung Ford Explorer ny isang staff namin (Girl sya from Holland). Actually she was filling the gas ng biglang may tumawag sa cell phone nya, then she step out in the car doon pa mismo sa may likod habang nag kakarga yung gasoline boy ehh bigla nalang may nag spark sa may gas tank. Hindi rin malaman kung saan talaga galing pero the theory ng mga investigador ehhh sa phone daw talaga galing kasi sunog din yung phone nya and she was adimitted sa Hospital for some burn treament...

Second case sa lob mismo ng industrial area namin (inside gas plant) yung isang tech. was having a cell phone while calibrating some Instument Tranmitter nag mag ring ang phone nya sinagot ayon nag karon ng spark doon sa area sunog ang TENGA nya kakatuwa nga tingnan pag nakita nyo hehehehehe.

I dont turn my ignition off
saglit lang naman eh basta importante slow driving before
    approaching a gas station

    and also

do not fart on gasoline station
your butthole and the air that is being release with tremendous force can cause a spark
Its true! I've seen my butt ignite

    J/k
