March 5th, 2003 03:42 PM #1Hi peeps, glad to be a part of this great site. I have some questions
to the experts out there regarding my isuzu 1999 model A/T turbo
diesel pick-up....
1. Is there anything wrong if i just keep the engine idle for about
3-4 hrs. for the purpose of using the airconditioner? Say, if
i'm waiting for somebody and sleep in the car as well with the
aircon on. Is there a possible engine damage or some parts
that will get overworked?
2. If the odo meter don't work, is there any connection with other
engine parts or i just simply have it repaired?
Anticipating your answers....more power !!!!

1. It is not very environment-friendly to keep an engine idling for such a long time. It may also kill the occupants or cause brain damage because of carbon monoxide poisoning. Mechanically, walang masisira sa sasakyan mo by doing that.
2. Have the odo repaired. On most vehicles, it receives signals from the transmission. Baka faulty sensor lang iyan.

March 5th, 2003 08:11 PM #3Thx for the informative reply Otep, I am pretty aware of the
consequences of having the aircon on kaya i leave the windows
on both sides slightly opened (about 5mm clearance) so that
natural air could get in as well. So I guess mabuti pang matulog
sa motel for short time.
I also believe that the failed odo meter has a connection with the
transmission dahil nung nagpalagay ako ng transmission fluid sabi
ng mechanic dapat linisin na lahat ng tranny parts (don't know what
he really means) dahil may diprensya na. After 3 days, the odo failed.
