i'm thinking of getting a pickup to haul our mountain bikes (2 to 3) or my ktm to the trails. something that doesn't call much attention to itself (i.e. reliable and nothing/minimal to fix/change). must stay within or below the budget.

    any recommendations?

I don't know if the old Hilux will fit the budget but the cargo bed and cabin are the smallest in its class.

Mitsubishi L200 is ok also but VERY bare. The gauge cluster seems stolen from a Casio calculator. hehehe. But it is quite reliable.

Mazda B-series (aka Ford Courier later Ford Ranger) is an underrated (and undervalued) pick up. 2.2 engine is also used in Kia Besta (hence, abundant parts). Later model interiors were a bit more plush than the early bench-seat models. The cargo bed is quite large. If you need something that does not draw attention to itself, this could be your ticket.

L300FB na lang if you'll haul 2 to 3 mountain bikes. yan siguradong tago pa, at walang makakapansin. and you can even eat or shop without worrying for your bikes.

that's what I do, pag nagbike kami. pero once pa lang namin na-try to.

why used when you can get a brand new? wala pa sakit ng ulo... mitsubishi L300 CC is selling at 499thousand... (correct me if i'm wrong) pwede iyun 300thousand gawin mo pang downpayment tapos kung may zero interest eh maganda or 1 yr lang para mababa ang interest rate...

or kung talaga hanggan doon lang budget eh kuha ka nalang ng subic surplus... i'm sure may makukuha ka ng ganoon na halaga...

L300 FB sasakit lang ang ulo mo. Not because its a bad car but because it is the kotong cop's favorite vehicle.

boss, try mo nissan p-up yung eagle series. Tibay ng makina, mahal nga lang ang mga spare parts pag nissan pero worth it naman kase pangmatagalan. Mine, ito gamit ko for evryday used, naka 300,086kms na ako for 10yrs now. So far palinis lang ng injection pump & nozzle lang ang pinaayos ko sa makina, wala pang overhaul. & ang lamig pa ng aircon.

very true. sad to say na-experience ko na yan. pero kung may kakilala ka parak o LTO, hingi ka ng ID. that's what we did. mayroon kami LTO ID from Abra pa ata yun, courtesy of an LTO head in that region hehehe. since then, nag think-twice mga pumapara. yun tipong pakaway na pero hindi itutuloy.

need recommendations for a used pickup in the 250-300k range
