    comfort== IFS or macpherson strut

    pag durability solid axle/leaf sprung suspension

    depende sa gamit mo. pero sakit durability ehhe sa hirap ng buhay at mahal ng parts, ok lang ang leaf sprung sa comfort para saken

    kaya yan, yun nga lang magastos.

    maraming control rods ang kailangan mong ilagay para macontrol yung paggalaw ng axle mo. sa leaf spring kasi, yung leaf spring na mismo ang nagcocontrol sa movement ng axle. ang coils, pwedeng mabali (mag-flex) in any direction, kaya kailangan ng control arms.

    and auv's were made to carry loads (thus the name- utility in asian utility vehicle)

    but does it mean that the more leaf spring you put in your vehicle the more stiffer the ride will be? plus why does some vehicle have a more bended leaf spring than that of other vehicles? how does it affect one's performance?

    Leaf spring front suspensions are old school but they are heavy duty and easy to service on the field.

    Converting your rear suspension into a coil unit is not impossible. But it will be expensive.

    The only good thing is you have the potential to adapt the Montero Sport's rear suspension since you are using basically the same frame.

    you are referring to what type of performance?

    more leaves = stiffer ride and higher loading capacity (afaik)

    more bended leaves = stiffer ride and higher loading capacity

    there are reversed leaves which will soften the ride :D

    suspension is tuned according to requirement, some vehicles that has leaf sprung suspensions are for offroading, kaso after ppl buy it and use it as a urban truck, nag rereklamo sila, so manufacturers have to tune it depende sa market, kaya minsan pareho model iba iba yung bilang ng mule.

    Number of leafs depende din sa vehicle, the more heavier the vehicle mas madami or masmakapal ang leafs. Dapat tama tama lang ang leafts para di matagtag or hindi bouncy, Kaya minsan pag bouncy are ride, nilalagyan nila sasakyan nila ng weight para mag match ang Leaf suspensions tigas sa weight ng sasakyan
