    Folks!
Here's a taste of what's going to happen after Sept.8(my apologies to PhilStar):

Isuzu Phils set to raise prices

    The Philippine Star 08/09/2003

Isuzu Philippines Corp. said yesterday the prices of some of its products will increase upon the implementation of Revenue Regulation 4-2003 on Sept. 9

RR 4-2003 enforces stricter measurements on the 10-seater capacity ruling that exempts a vehicle from paying excise tax. Based on a recent re-measurement of vehicles, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said all existing models of AUVs and SUVs failed to pass the 10-seater capacity measurements and are thus subject to excise tax starting Sept. 9.

Affected models are the Isuzu Trooper and the Hi-Lander Crosswind with price increases of approximately 50 percent. For the Trooper, the tax translates to a P781,000 price increase, or a new price tag of P2.35 million from its current price of P1.569 million.

The price of Crosswind entry-level variant XL will increase from P665,000 to P1 million while the top-of-the-line variant XUVi A/T will go up from P934,000 to P1.450 million.

Isuzu Phils. said it will hold off any price increase resulting from foreign currency fluctuations until Sept. 9. The company has also assured the buying public of enough available stocks.

Value based ang basis nya unlike the stupid excise tax measure being proposed by dept. of finance. parang mga walang kukote ang mga taga Dept. of Finance w/ this kind of law.

It's the silliest price taxing system in the world. Onli in da pilipins.
