0.68 opacimeter average vs. 2.5 passing. :D
average of the 4 lowest readings pala yon from 6 readings.
medyo kinabahan pa ako, umabot kasi ng 1.81 yung 2nd reading. buti na lang puro pababa na yung reading after that. *whew*
mas mahigpit pala ang standards for diesel vehicles model 2003 and up; 1.2 max opacimeter. Pero bat ganon, mas mataas ang allowance for turbo boosted. for vehicle models 2002 and below 2.5 for naturally aspirated vs. 3.5 for turbo. for 2003 models up, 1.2 nat. asp vs. 2.2 turbo. double standard ata?

yung isa ko naman officemate na naka-hilander, bagsak din sa first test. pinapalitan daw yung gaskets ng fuel pump nya and recalibrate--ayun after 5000+ pesos damage, pasado na. according to him, nasa 50 thou KM na daw odometer nya. so pati pala 4JA1, pwede din bumagsak sa emission tests after some time.
So I guess, this really boils down to proper maintenance at meron din nga siguro usable life yung mga injectors natin. Any comments on this from our resident Diesel Calibration experts? Doc Diesel? Hanson?

I presume you still you still have a fairly new vehicle and you've taken cared of it properly that's why you passed the test.

They revved the engine past 3000 rpm many times before the actual test began, to see if smoke persists.

You will be issued a proof of certificate after the test. Validity is good for 2 months from date of issue.

Test area along Mayon St. in Q.C. Diesel engines are segregated from gas feds.
Pix won't load on this post, better click here for pics: http://www.pbase.com/ungas/emission
Note: The test was 6 revs in total, I didn't get the last pic (busy looking at the Pajero beside me) The guys doing the testing flipped out when they saw me with the camera. Naiilang daw sila sa media exposure. Hmmm, something bothering them with cameras? Na-taon pa kasabay ko yung GMA 7's service pick-up nila ng "Imbestigador". It did failed the emission test and was about to return for another testing. Re-tests are only P150.- if you failed the first time out. :D

I have to correct myself regarding my last post..at ng di naman ako maging kahiya hiya ahehehe...
to Doc Diesel; yep regulary maintained, change oil every 5-6K kms. Pero I'm still intrigued if the CME really helped. medyo mausok na rin ako e. Just the same, I'll probably have my engine recalibrated by the end of the year. by that time, siguro naka 60-65K kms na ko.
Choice I would have made as well.
