while engine is running, unplug and check small hoses and check if it's vacuum...
then you can hook it there with a "T" or better trace it up to the source (vacuum pump) and hook it there... the "T" comes free when you buy the guage...
make sure you buy a vacuum/boost gauge. so dual purpose...Last edited by rion; June 9th, 2007 at 12:50 AM.

dun sa idle up switch pede ikabit yun vacuum gauge. basically it tells you the amount of air that is being suck by the engine. the more air, the more fuel is injected to the engine. it also serves as a consumption gauge sa mga euro cars like bmw and mb.

Sir adventure, post nalang po pic ng makina.
Afaik on later diesels, nag ba-vacuum na yung hose on idle. puwede mo silang tangalin para macheck kahit engine running on idle. kahit boost hose mo yung natangal ok lang, walang problema.
like sir afrasay said, "basically it tells you the amount of air that is being suck by the engine"
It also tells how's your vacuum pump's condition, since some vehicle's brake also relies on the vacuum pump.
I read ago somewhere that the vacuum guage also tells you how is your automatic tranny's condition on gear shifting. for some vehicles a/t are also controled by the vacuum level... I don't know if common Japanese vehicles also works like this...Last edited by rion; June 15th, 2007 at 02:22 AM.
