    Guys are there really engines na kailangan medyo mataas ang revving before shifting? Yung trooper kasi namin and ng friend ko parang ganito. Nanginginig kapag hindi ginagalit ang makina. Yung frontier naman ng uncle ko hindi ganito. Pansin ko din ito sa 4d56. According to a mitsu mechanic, mas maganda daw na medyo biglain ang revving before shifting. Is this correct? :confused:

    but for a diesel? hmmm...

    mostly high compression engines are like that.
    and/or engines with "wild" cams installed. its just not comfortable in the low rpm's

    Yup, ganun yung 4d56 and the engine of our trooper. Gusto high rpms. Sayang nga sa crudo eh. Or maybe its the other way around. Baka mas magastos sa crudo pag hirap ang makina.

    Sa 4d56 mo ba hindi ka ganito? Recently ko lang napansin at nalaman ito sa mga mitsu mechanics (yung trooper namin before ko pa alam na kailangan high revs talaga), kaya ngayon talagang ginagalit ko ang makina. Ngayon ko nga rin nalaman na matulin at malakas din pala ang 4d56, minsan lang kasi hessitant ang driver ihataw. Correct timing lang...

    I have also an L300? So dapat ba na high rev den shift to high gear? hindi kaya malakas sa GAS. Any comments

    First you should know where the peak torque band and power ratings of your engine. Kahit na over-rev mo pag lampas ka na sa peak you're just wasting fuel.

    Ganun din sabi sa kin ng kapitbahay naming taga-Mitsu. Hirap ang 4D56 pag low rev shifting.

    Ilang beses ko na ring napatunayan 'to, kaya tinataasan ko ang engine speed minsan before shifting, with very favorable results, ehehehehe. Tantyahan na lang para hindi basta-basta sisipa pag nag-engage na ulit ang clutch.

    i agree with ungas..you should know the peak torque band and play along that line...pwede naman magkulang ng konti..basta mararamdaman mo naman yan eh.

    peak torque?? grabe nun ha. look at the manual kung anu peak torque ng engine nyo. Pero pwede rin nyo malaman yung peak torque and peak Hp by dynometer. Pag pinadyno test nyo yan dyan nyo makikita talaga kung san aabot at san ang pinakamalakas na HP and Torque ng engine at kung kailan ang pinakamagandang magshift parang drag race na ito ha. hehehe

    very useful po sakin itong topic na to. maraming salamat sa nag post. confused kasi ako dati. pero ng nakita ko sa website ang peak torque ng 4D56 na adventure. ayon sa specs ito ay Max. Torque (kg-m)rpm - 14.6/2500. so for as long as hindi lalagpas ng 2500 ang rpm hindi pa siya aksayado sa gas. marami kasing conflict pagdating sa pagtitipid sa diesel. may nagsasabing kapag na maintain mo ang speed mo sa 80/kph at hindi lalagpas ang rpm mo ng 2000 mas malayo ang maitatakbo ng gas. (isuzu d-max test drive article sa inq.and mitsubishi club forums) pero ang mahirap dito baka naman ma sasakripisyo ang kundisyon ng makina lalo na ang clutch and transmission. IMHO hanggat na ma-maintain natin sa peak level ang rpm natin safe tayo. please share your opinions too.

    umm...pano kung pinalaki o pinaliit ang mga gulong? diba magbabago na ang peak torque? or measurements sa rev meter lang ang magbabago?

    ok. share ko lang yung experience ko. actually, masama sa diesel ang binibigala ang rev, mausok dahil di masyado nasusunog ang crudo. well, tama sir ungas dapat familiar ka sa torque band ng engine mo. once na exceed ka dun, you're burning fuel than you actually running it. in short, malakas ang konsumo. whereas, kapag naman under rev mo yung engine malakas din. dapat yung sakto lang. nangnginginig? di ba natural sa diesel ang malakas ang nginig?

    sir, di mababago ang torque band mo. constant yun. readings ng speedometer ang magbabago- kapag hindi mo nasunod yung proper measurement nang gulong.

    kahit saan ang sobra o kulang pangit. di mo naman kailangan pararatingin sa peak rpm mo para masulit. base sa experience ko less than 2k rpm shifting is ok economically. mararamdaman mo naman kung kulang kasi parang kumakalog ng husto yung makina at hirap umarangkada pag napaaga yung shift mo. lastly, pag nagpalit ka ng malaking gulong, ibig sabihin non you will sacrifice fuel economy with looks. hth.

    Afaik, the peak torque for 4D56 engines are quite high, on 3k rpms if I recall it right (?)

    Same as with its peak power ratings kaya kailanganmedyo mataas ng konti ang rpm readings.

    Premature shifting with sufficient engine power for the upper gear can minimize fuel consumption. But inreturn, you alter your injection pump's timing slowly. You will feel its adjustment after 30k kms or more.

    The torque & power ratings are posted on each vehicle's manuals and leaflets. They print it ideally somewhere along that mark. Every other engine of the same kind has discrepancy of about 300rpm.
