Pero kahit orderin nila, malamang nakatiwangwang din yun kung saang country man sila kukuha. Kahit ang oh-so-hot Toyota Fortuner, nabibilad din sa Pier. What more ang lesser in demand models.

Check mo na lang siguro ang odometer ng auto, and also don't forget to check on other potential damages. Sa 'kin kasi mas OK na'ng naka stock ang auto do'n sa likod kaysa naman sa galing nga sa planta pero kumain na ng 50 or so kilometers... 'di ba?

Units are driven off the assembly line, road tested (for QA purposes), and driven onto boats for shipping (if imported). Impossible talagang maging zero ang odometer. Lalo ka magduda kung zero siya.

Isuzu, Hyundai, Toyota, etc. drive their vehicles from plant/port to dealership. GM and Honda have transporters. Not sure of other makes.

Provincial distributors like Toyota Dagupan/Baguio are using transporters.

This is interesting... How would you know a car is TOTALLY new from the conduction sticker? Is there a series of numbers that tell its release date and time?

About the ODO thing I'll you guys a story... I got to test drive a Vios about 2 years ago. this one was with the digital panel, the 1.5g variant. The SA's delivered the test unit to our office para matest drive ko properly. I was impressed of course But as I sat inside and drove the unit, napansin ko this was a brand new unit. And the SA honestly admitted it naman. Mga upuan may plastic pa and to my surprise, the ODO and mileage readings were disconnected. naka zero sya. napansin ko to kase naka-ilaw yun check engine indicator. I was test driving someone else's new unit! wawa naman yun owner neto.

and also, about cars stocked on dealer lots. yup! kawawa yun mga units. exposed to rain, sun, dust, and bird poop. manufacturers just clean it up but not properly, below expectation of a detailing geek like me(clay, wash, wax) hehehe. they just wash it. When I took my new dmax home, after claying it an dami dumi sa clay bar. luckily the dealer I got it from had a closed bodega. so dust last ang nag accumulate hehehe. but what was scary is that, they had year old models that can be modified to be new models.

When we got our dmax jan of 05, my SA for the DMAX back then offered the 04 models(which did not have the flexride, new stereo and updated panels) at a 20k discount. New naman yun unit at naka stock lang sa bodega nila upstairs of the showroom. but I was not sure how long they were. atleast 05 models mas new out of the plant than the 04. Pero I insisted at sbi ko gusto ko ng bago, kaya nga bumibili ng bago kase gusto ko the latest model with all the updates. so he said he could modify the 04 model to reflect the new updates of the 05 model but added cost pa rin sabi ko yun 05 model na lang kukunin ko. buti na lang at nakita ko na yun unit at kinuha yun kaisa-isang kulay duon. I think mabait naman SA namin and I think he was just concerned na maskakatipid kami pagka 04 model kukunin namin.(yeah right! )

its scary to think that dealers can modify old model cars to be new models kahit pa hindi nagamit.

napansin ko sa toyota, maraming instances nakakakita ako ng mga new toyota being driven by mechanics(naka jumper unis sila at walang tint windows) around manila. siguro nga galing planta. minsan naka linya pa yan, sunod sunod na innova's, fortuners, altis. bilis pa ng takbo kamo I also frequently see a truck full of honda's in SLEX.

i hate dealers just driving the cars from planta to dealer o from port to dealer...

Red flag at Foul talaga ang Toyota... tinitipid ang pagdeliver!

Nakita ko na naka trailer e mga ford, mazdas at hondas....

No wonder hondas have high resale value and proud na proud ang owners...

If you think your sales agent is not honest go to another dealership. It's your money your spending.

I read somewhere that newly assembled or painted cars are best made to "rest" or cure for a while before being used, this gives the paint time to harden before being "handled" (washing, wiping, dusting, waxing). The few days it gets to spend on a dealer's lot is negligible considering that the vehicle will have a useful life of at least 25 years. Lastly, vehicles are designed to be "exposed" to the elements, a little sun and water won't devalue it just as long as you're the first owner. As long as the vehicle gives you trouble free service till the warranty runs out, enjoy your ride.

Not true po regarding the paint, right off the bat, after the computerized robotics painted the car, it cures really fast and it is hand-buffed (meaning a paint finisher buffs it with a buffer) before it leaves the assembly line. You can watch this sa Auto Motor und Sports show, they feature assembly line scenes often.

    Only refinished paint requires curing.

Its really impossible to get the best unit, even the dealer themselves dont know how long the unit's been exposed to the elements, etc etc before it gets to their warehouse, Most dealers have a separate warehouse other than their shorwoom, this is where they install all the accessories etc. Dealers would usually ship out older stocks before the new ones.First in,first out remember? I should know,I know someone who's a car dealer and Im a dealer myself, well not in a car business anyway. Just inspect the unit carefully

basta bago, smells good, and looks clean (no scratches or stains) ok yan. yung nga crv ng lola ko, when it was first introduced back in 97, she got one of the first, but who knows kung sino sino na nag drive or na upo sa loob. when she got it, it already had 80 km on it!

here in the US, my last new car was really new kasi na order ko na before it even came. it was considered "pre-sold" before arrival. kasi hot ang GX470 nung dec 02 so every unit that goes thru my local dealer, is SOLD. halos hindi nag tatagal ng one week ang isang unit. I almost bought it w/o a test drive. luckily meron nag buy-back sa dealer and naging demo car.

sa totoo wala namang difference yan kung yan yung nasa likod or bago talga from plant, ang importante is they gave you a brand new unit tsaka may warranty naman sila e so bkit kapa matatakot kung yan yung old stock or fresh of the pier?

for me it really makes no diff or sense kung old stock or new stock coz im basically getting the same car

Not to mention the brand kasi pwede ring gawin ng ibang manufacturer yan. Hope this will help.
