Mga 4x4 masters, help naman!

May anghel na nag-pamana sa akin ng 1997 na Delica Starwagon A/T na 4x4. Kaso, dehins ako understand ng 4WD. Paano ba gamitin yung shift sa 4WD, yung may 4H, 2H at 4L? Tapos, yung aircon, kapag mga 1 hr na gamit na yung vehicle, humihina yung lamig sa front. Pero, yung sa rear ok. Had the compressor checked, ok naman daw pero dehins ako convinced. Right now, hesitant akong gamitin dahil 'wa ako knowledge sa 4WD vehicles. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

For pavement driving just keep in 2H. The Delica 4x4 system is not designed to run on non-slip surfaces (like roads! :D ). It is for off-road use only.

4H is for high speed off-road driving like flying across lahar land (woohoo!)

4L is for low speed off-road work requiring precise control or during very steep descents requiring massive engine braking.

Just to be sure, be at a full stop and in neutral before shifting the transfer lever. To go back to 4x2 mode, shift into 2H and back up the vehicle a couple of meters to disengage the front hublocks.

Yung sa a/c kung hindi expansion valve, baka sira yung electric fan that blows througy the a/c condenser (yung parang radiator na nakahiga sa ilalim ng Delica).

about your 4wd use,tama si sir otep..ganyan di gingawa ko..

about your front aircon...most likely(definately) converted yan..ask ko lang panu ang hina ng lamig?
1.ung hangin na lumalabas ay humihina pero ung lamig consistent? or
2.ung hangin na lumalabas ay consistent pero ung lamig humihina?

never run 4H on paved road (part-time 4x4 kasi ang delica), lalo na kapag nag turn you'll experience "wheel binding"

City driving will require you to use 2H mode, on high speed loose gravel runs you may use 4H for added traction to avoid tailspin. 4L will only be used to extremely difficult terrains which requires you twice the engine torque & power. Never use 4H or 4L on paved roads where all 4 tires have full traction. This will cause driveline binding effect which can harm your vehicle.

With regards to your AC queries, bring it to another shop for more options & diagnostic tests.

Mga sirs, dalamat po ng marami. Hats off sa inyo! Yung sa aircon sa front, humihina kapag matagal na akong nag-drive. Tapos, nag-experiment ako kanina. Shut ko front aircons then after five minutes, open ko. Aba, malamig na. Then, after about 45 minutes na drive, humihina na naman. Nakaka-praning! :praning: Yes sir, balak ko mag-attend ng 4x4 clinic. Tapos, may nabasa ako na sa TurboD engine daw, kailangan i-idle yung engine for 5 minutes bago shut. Kasi daw, kapag pinatay agad, masisira daw yung tubo charger. Truth po ba yun? Tenks.

yung sa aircon mo it most probably is caused by ICE on the evaporator. that is why after you turn it off for a few minutes, the ice melts and it is ok again. this means only 2 things.
1. most possible reason, expansion valve on the front evaporator is faulty. di na siya gumagana so kahit may ice na yung evap e sige pa din, so the temperature goes low enough to form ice that blocks tthe evaporator. solution, palit ng expansion valve.
2. dirty evaporator. this restricts the flow of air and causes it to form ice. solution, palinis ang evap coil.

both repairs will involve replacing the filter dryer, vacuuming of the refrigeration system, and charging of new refrigerant.

I was reading up on 4x4s and I read na dapat mag-lagay ako ng turbo timer. Ask ko lang, how much do those things usually cost and how much time does it take to install one. Salamat po ulit!

One more time (kulit ko anoh, pero I learn a lot here). :newbie: My Australian friend, whom I learned drives a L400 4WD in Melbourne, says na dehins ko daw po dapat gamitin yung over-drive when I'm just driving around town. Kaso, I noticed na pag i-off ko po, tumataas yung RPM. So, to conserve fuel, iniiwan ko lang pong naka-on yung O/D. Based on your experiences driving todits sa magulong ngunit colourful na mga kalye ni Bayani Fernando, ano po advice no. 'Sensya na po, pero eager talaga akong matuto.
