IMHO since your dad preferred a brand new one, the crosswind xti would
    be ideal.

if we'll be getting the crosswind, he's eyeing the XUV. Is it possible to replace the tires to regular tires instead of the offroad ones?

instead of A/T you can replace it with the H/T.
H/Ts will grip better on-road than ATs. A/T tread noise is insignificant.

im thinking of that option, would that entail additional cost on our part?

i'd go for adventure, mas smoother quiet engine, nice suspension and so lovely to drive, almost like a car, better interior, speedwise i dont think you will be disappointed. i have tried crosswind xuvi, for me not as fast as the adventure, noisy engine and bouncy ride. i dont know bout the newer ones..better see it for yourself, after all it's only you who can decide.

Check motioncars.com then go to the.car.chart

Dunno which of the two sites are more updated pero sa motioncars merong 2WD na CRDi for a little over 1M. 1,078,000 ata yung price. and not much difference from the 4WD version. Hope this helps
