According to the sales rep who assisted me, the 4x4 & 4x2 both have 3.0L engines, choice of M/T or A/T, airbags & ABS, alarm system, & same ground clearance! So basically the 4x4 & 4x2 have the same appearance except that the 4x4 has a standard stepboard.
However the sales rep said that only the 1st few units would have standard airbags & ABS. Grrr!
A testdrive is scheduled for the public on Nov. 22 & 23 at Fort Bonifacio.
Prices are as follows:
4x2 M/T = P920,000
4x2 A/T = P975,000
4x4 M/T = P1,255,000
4x4 A/T = P1,310,000

if i read the graphs right, the hp tops off at about 95 kW and the torque at 280 n-m... those figures are already very good for a pick-up... that definitely makes it the most powerful pick-up in its class...

Here it is...I got the chance to look at it up close. Dont ask how. The engine is a 3.0 liter OHV diesel (MABILIS TO MGA PARE!). May computer. 4WD. New tranny. Completely different from the Fuego. Bago ang interior (dashboard, seats, ceiling, instrument panel na gwapo!). Lahat ng seat belts 3 pt retractor type (ELR). May ABS..(solid ang preno! hinto kaagad) Mas stiff at beefy ang suspension. Tried to get it to roll-over pero ayaw... : ) jok jok jok. I was able to get the tail to wag (fish tail) a little bit during hard cornering and its easy to contol. I like the blue D-MAX.

ito ang clincher na tanong (as if ha ha ha) the engine noise inside the cabin, tolerable ba? parang trooper ba?

isa pang hirit? maganda na ba ang dampers? just when you start the engine, sa trooper, ang makina ang jolted, sa mga fuego at early hilander ang buong body ang nakakalog kasi...

yup i can say that the engine noise was more tolerable than the fuegos and hilanders. the same goes for the vibration. yung A/T rin na-minimize na ang shift shock. You have to try it to appreciate it. Pre i think this coming sat may test drive sa libis. Check mo na lang din.

saw a canister beside the air filter, all sales rep could not convincingly tell what it is for?

by the way, nasa passenger side na ang air filter, meaning panibagong inventory na naman sa safari snorkel...
