    Hi, Usually CONVERTED units such as PAjero and trooper are price lower than local. What are some expected SERIOUS PROBLEMS for the CONVERTED UNITS?

    Btw, Bakit ang CONVERTED BIGHORN is not DUAL AIRCON compare to the local TROOPER? Di ba pareho lang sila?

    dami na topics, madami nang nagaway, nagtalo, di nagkaunawaan...pero eto pinakabasic nyan:

    kung wala kang tyaga mag-aral, first ride, drive-and-drive-until-it-dies, at may "malasakit sa local industry", maglocal ka na...

    pero kung willing ka magaral, kahit first ride, at metikuloso sa sasakyan, pwede ka mag-converted unit..pero it doesent mean na wala kang malasakit sa car industry, just like me, i prefer most imported units, depende sa laman nito...pero me, i only choose models na may local sa atin, otherwise pagiisipan ko mabuti...

    for example: why i choosed my former delica: diesel, matic, 4wd, bright lights, ride height sunroof, 7 seats....but have to let go kasi parang nagmemaintain ako ng pajero, 4wd strada at L300 all-in-1 package!so pinalitan ko...hi-ace supercustom limited awd or delica spacegear 4wd super/royal exceed...in short, our local van industry dont give these options i need! our(me and my wife) 1st choice is really a 1990's jdm diesel nissan largo/vanette full-auto 4wd w/ panoramic roof...pero hard to find a good unit, kalimitan laspag so i ended up sa jdm 1991 liteace fxv 4wd ko ngayon...

    why i choose this:1.DIESEL, and still like my delica, fullest option (TEMS, plushier seats, hot/cold box w/ icemaker and skylite roof-->di ako mahilig sa madilim e...)

    other models i would consider imported than local:
    terrano, caravan/homy/urvan, rodeo/wizard, chariot/rvr/spacewagon, corona/carina, 2000 model jdm serena, small vans(every, atrai/hi-jet)...pajero, if gen 2 w/ 4m40...

    now there are instances where i dont like the converted ones:
    patrol/safari, trooper/bighorn/honda..../holden......,most local cars.

    units that are subject for scrutiny before i choose whether local/imported:
    94-98 serena, LC70/80/90/100, hilux surf/4 runner, elgrand, hiace regulus/granvia, liteace/townace noah, emina/estima/lucida/previa, rav4, crv, hrv..and the 3door models of lc70/90, pajero, trooper at mga model na wala dito sa atin...

    why magkaiba ung imported sa local na trooper, simple: market demand. remember iba-iba ang market ng bawat bansa..kaya nga may EuDM, JDM, PhDM..etc....

    Because the a/c is locally fitted. Tignan mo iba ang materials compared to the rest of the vehicle cabin. Kulay lang nagkapareho.

    Sa UBS69 na Trooper mas obvious na add-on yung rear a/c. Pero Isuzu part pa din iyon. Regional part nga lang.

    Pajero pa rin yata ang mabilis mabenta sa mga converted na units. I saw 1 nighorn yesterday, latest model sa mga converted unit. Maganda, Local look ginawa, side mirror closes in a switch, may defogger sa last side and rear window, sa heat daw sa seats, power seats adjuster and with TV pa... impressed ako dun. But then, converted pa rin.

    I asked the Q kasi he was offering to swap (straight) it with my 2003 REVO GLX. And I am trying to think it over. What you think, is it a GOOD SWAP?

    for me, ha, mas sikat parin ang delica starwagons next sa pajeros....by comparison, 3 delicas per 2 pajeros ang nakikita ko....serena, lite/town/master/hi-ace, estima/emina/lucida, lc70 and surf dumadami-dami na din....

    rvrs and chariots dumadami pa lalo din lalo na ung naka 4d68turbo/intercooler-T....matipid sa crudo at matulin din plus sporty pa ang dating...

    about sa nakikipag-swap sa yo, well, ganito, ha...

    1.check mo first and foremost ung conversion underneath, but first, look at the underchasis, particularly the steering system of the local trooper...dapat maging familiar ka sa details nun...take pics ng steering assembly ng local trooper, dash, everything...

    2.now, ung inoofer sa yo, ask mo na magkita kayo sa gaolinahan or kahit anong shop na may lifter, to verify the conversion done..dapat pumayag siya kunan ko din ng pics ung conversion nya...otherwise wag na...

    use a digital cam para macompare mo agad pag-uwi w/o even printing..use the maximum resolution para makita mo every details...

    pero mukha din kasi kadudaduda, trooper na ung sa kanya, papalitan pa nya ng revo?pero malay natin baka may mabuting personal na dahilan siyang di nya masabi...if you can bring a sound recorder, trusty mechanic, masmabuti...plus ipacheck mo na din pang-ilalim nya kung may sira, ung fluids, lalo na ung radiator fluid...at para makapag-deal kayo ng maayos....

    nga pala, better kung predecessor engine (ung 4gj2 ba un?) ang mabili mo, ung newer engine ng trooper nating local, may probs pang malaki....ewan ko kung may murang solusion na ung flaw na un..

    i almost forgot, kung a/t, kahit di mapula ung oil, basta mahalaga amoy ATF parin, at di amoy sunog! and kung may sunroof, close it, then sa carwash, ipaspray mo ung sunroof with water, around its seals preferably while nasaloob kayo..kung ma tumulo, open mo ung shade, baka bara lang ung drain, pero kung sobra ang lakas at napuno agad ung drain, malamang matigas na seals nyan.ask ka sa isuzu kung may pampalit sila at kung magkano...minor repair lang din yun....pero dapat agapan...

    masmaganda ang 4wd system ng jdm trooper: may torque-on-demand (TOD) system, similar sa pajero/spacegear 4wd's super-select 4wd....

    so my vote, kung all are ok, basta minor repairs lang ang defects ng trooper nya, dont hesitate, mas angat ang SUV parin!....otherwise, kahit 1 lang major repair, think it over, pero kung more than 1 that you cant handle, drop it!

    nga pala, in most cases, a very well taken care of converted unit (from its conversion to your ownership) will outlive most of its local counterparts, why? example, my liteace is a 1991 mode, still has its original paint and undercoating , so as my former delica, pero when clean, when i had its rubbing, labas parin ung kintab niya!plus katukin mo ung freshly landed JDM from either subic/cebu, sa katok palang solido na!
