DISCS - no questions about it in terms of breaking power. in fact, the best ang 4-disc set up (f/r).

the main advantage of disc brakes is that they can shed heat much faster than drum brakes, and so are far more resistant to brake fade caused when the brake components are saturated with heat.

although drum rear brakes are largely adequate for typical use (whether on a car or a truck; since the lion's share of braking power rests on the front brakes), siguro magagamit ang advantage ng rear discs in off-roading during steep descents where the brakes must be used on top of engine braking to control speed. but even then, rear drum brakes would still be adequate for the most part... mas mura kasi ang drum brakes kesa disc brakes kaya ginagawa pa rin yun

Drum brakes are also less prone to eating mud since the shoes are protected by the drum itself. Siyempre when it comes to all out braking power mahirap talunin ang disc.

On Land Rovers and Patrols, the parking brakes are drum brakes built into the propeller shaft. On Pajeros, the parking brakes are drum brakes built-in to the rear discs.

    kiper,

Madalas umiingay lang naman kapag madumi. Pero siyempre nandiyan pa din ang possibility na masugatan ang rotor or caliper dahil nga exposed. Pero the chances of that happening is very rare.

drum brakes madulas pag basa yung brake shoes. saka they tend to stick pag pinasok ng tubig yung loob ng drum. yung ang experience ko before with my Beetle na drum brakes pati front. kakatakot pag baha dahil halos mawala na brake ko.

di ba self-cleaning ang disc brakes? yung caliphers nya tends to wipe off dirt from the disc before it clamps on the disc. ang sira mo lang don kung may makasingit na dumi sa calipher.
