    Hello peeps.

I am planning on installing 20 inchers for my Gen III paj within the month.

Went to Banawe and concept one... pareho lang naman basically ang cost ng gulong (80k++) and wheels (mga 120k++) for a set of 4.

what else can I get for this price range? standard ba talaga ang price ng tires?

Should I get just 4? mahal na ata sobra ang 5th(spare. hehe. Usually ba, pag nagpablings kayo, 5 naman talaga binibili nyo dba?

lastly, 20 inches: safe parin naman sa lubak to dba? and I've been to pagudpod (dulo ng luzon) and I really saw no major lubaks or offroading areas. I think the whole of Ilocos has better roads than Metro Manila.
Bitin naman yata kung 18s lang ikabit ko.

    thanks in advance.

Meron! Rota 20s, nasa 30k lang for a set of 4. The rubber is more expensive talaga. last time I checked it was 16k each, 45 series na yun.

So I took the offroad look hehehe. Slap in some nice offroad looking wheels(16s or 17s) and all terrain tires. Matibay na, macho pa hehehe.

or get something in between which is 18s like you mentioned... tires were 8k-9k last time I checked. masmura talaga

But then depends on your tastse... for me, ok naman 20's bling bling talaga! but I'm not sure about the comfort pero kung luxo SUV naman ride mo I guess minimal effect on comfyness since Im sure maganda yun suspension... 18's best compromise between looks and comfort(+safety in terms of potholes hehehe)...

my advice, get what you really really want!!!

thanks tol! I'm more into luxo-cruiser kaya I guess 20s talaga hanap ko Sa Manila lang naman ako nalulubak eh. Baguio-vigan-Ilocos... great roads.

btw, hehe...balak ko rin sana to slap-on highway tires kasi sobrang ingay kasi sa higher speeds (60 kph above). 20 k each... Toyo ata ang brands na inooffer ng most shops I've been to.

kaso if I spend 200 -250 k, that's 250k less sa Lan Evolution fund ko next year or 2 years from now. dagdag din sa pang down payment yun.

just came from autoplus, merong Volk Rays GT-Ego 20" (forged outer rim, cast center) nasa P200T set of 4! Falken 275/40 tires are around P18T each. Since long drive, mas ok pareho yung spare tire para kung mag ka flat e same specs/offset/height pa rin lahat.

These are the Rota's I was takling about... extreme pala name nya.

The best price I got in banawe was 29k chrome na(sorry forgot the name of the store)... yun mga Bazo and MKW are really expensive... abot ng 90-100k+ rims lang. add in the cost of the tires and you've got a 2nd hand car na pede mo nang pang harabas hehehe. just kidding

Maganda rin yun mga blings ng american racing which is the almost the same price. Lenso, mahal din. Kapareho nya yun prices ng Bazo. Try looking for League Wheels also. Its taiwan based I think. Meron yan sa Evangelista...

Pansin ko lang iba yun chrome ng imported... the imported ones have that x factor, but then it may just be me. and i dont know if its marketing BS, sabi ng isang shop iba daw yun fade ng chrome ng local vs imported... halata raw sa local within 3-4 years... But I guess by that time, upgrade na tayo ng rims hehehe

    Bad Driver,

May rerecommend ako pero wag mo bilin kasi magiging pareho tayo.

    ROTA EXTREME 20"

20x9.5" 32k yung painted 38k yung chrome. set of 4 na yun. Amfogi!!!!

Meron 14k na 20's Nankang yung brand. Pero dont write them off kasi Yokohama daw yun or subsidiary. DAW.

Pero i saw the 17" version of the tires and they look pretty damn respectable.

    hehe, thanks guys.

Anu ang good shops ang nagcarry ng Rota? how about American Racing?

Or should
I try to get tires that matches my stocks' diameter?

    salamats!

Don't worry about the speedo/odo.

Unless you are putting in really teeny tires or going for that bigfoot look.

Pajeros have overall tire diameters between 29" to almost 32"

As to the chromes of the local vs imported, I've been told by a friend of mine who's also a dealer of wheels and tires that the chrome of the imported wheels are more durable than that of the local wheels. If you look at the texture of the local chromes right beside the imported chromes, you'll see a different finish.

Hopefully, you don't have a dog/won't come into contact with a dog on a regular basis, so as not to prove the staining theory on chrome wheels ;)

Hmmm.... 14K na 20 tires, and 32k na 20 rims. Interesting. P88K for 20s. P94K for chromes. That's about the price of Concept One 18s with tires.

Glad to know I don't have to fiddle with my speedometer.

    thanks

void lang naman ang warranty ng suspension mo kung ipapagawa mo sa casa yung oto mo ng naka-20s. if you can swing it, why don't you keep the stock wheels and tires, so in the event na masira yung suspension mo (fingers crossed na hindi) within the warranty period, you can slap on the stocks setup and claim warranty?

as to the superiority of aftermarket shocks and springs, i can only speak for OME shocks on my Prado. the OMEs sure made the ride more comfortable, but not boaty. a friend of mine installed OME shocks and springs on his Patrol, together with 20" rims, and according to him it feels more comfortable than the stock setup.

    Thanks,

But I do have to switch wheels everytime I take my car to the casa for pms checkups tho (every 6 months or 5kms). (In case they take not on it). Medyo hastle rin to. Kung Suspension lang ang void, Ok lang sakin since it is relatively cheap naman in proportion to the car's price. kaso baka damay damay ito hanggang abs/brakes etc. hehe... di natin alam kung kupalin tayo ng casa.

Pero yeah, I will have to keep my stocks. ty

Well, based on my experience with Toyota and my Camry, when I had my ride serviced for 5K, 15K, and 25K, the mags were on. But when I had it serviced recently for the 30K and other inspections to the suspension, I put back the stocks in. Toyota still honored the warranty and replaced the defective shocks free of charge. I really don't know if they keep track of your aftermarket wheels tho. Apparently in Toyota's case, they didn't.

In my case and with Toyota alabang, may inspection sila at the time you bring it in for PMS. Sa toyota baguio wala hehehe. depends na lang siguro sa casa... sa TAI they check only the exterior. Check nila yun scratches or paint damages, just to protect them against complaints on damages incurred during the PMS. But if you're looking for something that they store on their Database, wala ata sila ganun I think...

Here's a helpful webbie for checking the overall diameter of your aftermarket wheels. If you're odo is slow or faster etc. Input your stock tire size and rim size and on the left, input you after market wheel size and tire size.

    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Try mo muna yun stock shox and springs mo after your upgrade kung di ka satisfied upgrade ka. Usually titigas yun ride kase manipis na yun goma mo. Dami din aftermarket shox, like Bilstein, old man... try mo yun mga adjustable shox

Excited na ako sa Rota Extreme ko. Kaya lang the mind is willing but the wallet aint able bwahahaha!!!

Im sure you can fit wider tires on the Gen3. Sa Gen2 and 2.5 hanggang 275/50 or 275/45 lang. I'm running 275/60's right now and it seems "flush" with the fenders already. I think 285/45's would still be accepable. I saw a Fortuner running 275/50's maganda naman ang tayo.

BTW, sa GenII Max you could slap in is 22in. Meron akong site dati na nakita where you can select a car then change the wheels, diameter, profile, car color and even lower the tire. Kaya lang walang rota extreme dun. puro Bazo etc.
