This is a 16 seater passenger "XLT" PUJ in Tarlac...

Powered by an Isuzu C240 diesel engine

Considered as a workhorse in Central Luzon...

Assemblers of this vehicle are mostly located in Apalit, Pampanga...

I saw a backyard auto workshop near Laguna that produces the same kind
of AUV...

..although its version is smaller and shorter...

In other words, there are still operators who use them as PUJ/school bus...

it will never be supported by the goverment because di naman ganun kadali magestablish ng automotive manufacturing business (pinoy brand),
they dont even design ang make their engines, mga kinahoy or surplus lang ng makina from other vehicles, how can they survive copyright ang legal matters?
-They dont have their own R&D
-They dont have their own plants
-They dont have Q.A. (quality assurance)
-Most probably kulang din sa formal training and theory puro so and so experience lang.
-It wont pass international safety requirements (dito lang yata satin meron mga ganyang sasakyan)
-It wont pass euro class emission testing


its a big no no pa rin for me.

pede pa siguro kung lalabas yan sa sarili nilang planta passing all modern safety and quality requirements

hehe..share ko lng naalala ko dati nung bata pa ako ng assemble din kmi ng ganyang class ng sasakyan kso di masaydong malaki Toyota 7K lang ang engine nya

Hehehe iyan ang sinasakay pag nasa Apalit ako hanggang sa farm (macabebe) meron pa dhan sa apalit 15 seater na fortuner kuhanan ko ng pics.

i've driven one of these things. handled like a tractor with all 4 wheels stuck in a foot of mud.

you gotta hand it to the guys who drive these for a living, 12 hours a day... i wouldnt drive 1 for long distances. if i did i'll probably pop an artery.
