    Wouldn't replacing 3 to 4 jeepneys with a single mini-bus be more efficient and comfortable for all?

    yes jeepneys are still one of best mass transport in our country the thing is many drivers of this vehicle are un-discipline so it creates traffic flow on our roads.IMO

    Best? Doubtful.

    I find it far from being efficient in terms of how it moves people and how much energy required/wasted during a typical day.

    ask ko lang? may jeepney bang naka turbocharger with intercooler? since it is a diesel, it will be at most of use?

    Nope. What is more useful for a jeepney is it's extremely low ratio gearing which gives it lots of torque even with it's low HP engines.

    And PUV jeepneys don't need massive HP. They don't even exceed 60kph.

    Now a days PUV has a 21seaters capacity . May need a conductor hard for the passenger to give there fee.
