Norkis just a few years ago launched mini-cars and utility vehicles. But I have not seen any advertisement or outlets selling their cars...

I just want to know if norkis is still selling their legacy or the small car named privacy/maverick. my friend is looking for an alternative vehicle at a much cheaper price because of skyrocketing fuel and spareparts prices....

We want to have an idea about their cost (current), maintenance and capabilities.

With the high prices of oil, small engine vehicles of norkis are getting very very attractive.

I hope they can further bring down their prices....

Too many secondhand choices available here... and too many foreign-made super-minis with better warranties and features (though those cost 100-200k more, the monthly payments don't come out that different).

You'll see more of these in the provinces, for sure, but penetration in the metro or the areas around the metro will understandably be weak.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Im sure Norkis is enjoying brisk sales of its remanufactured and rebadged micro vehicles today... sa mahal ng gas..

...and with their fuel efficient vehicles..

...such as my favorite Norkis Legacy ( double cab pick up- from Daihatsu Mira and the Maverick-from the Nissan Micra/Verita)

....Asan na kaya showroom nila sa Edsa?

MANILA, OCTOBER 21, 2003 (MALAYA) By SANDRA DIEZ (Photos By PHILIP DUQUIATAN) -

The vehicle called a Multicab, introduced in Cebu 10 years ago, has provided the solution to a growing road "nuisance" and eyesore of smoke-belching tricycles and jeepneys.

(Norkis Cebu currently pegs its prices at P136,000 to P166,000 for its passengerial models while private models range from P86,000 to 185,000.)

From its origins in Mandaue, Multicabs have since made a strong presence in the Viz-Min regions with over 200,000 units running nationwide.

    Multicab craze

NQ decided to bring in used component engines and parts of 550-cc and 660-cc Daihatsu and Suzuki engines and factored in some Filipino ingenuity and creativity to create the newly-styled, light, 4-wheel Multicab. The 550-cc engine is matched to variants for use city streets while the 660-cc is fitted to models more suited for hauling and uphill climbs.

Porta Coeli Industrial Corporation (PCIC), a newly-established Norkis affiliate makes sure that each Multicab, the only BOI-registered 4W light vehicle, undergoes full engine overhaul, parts replacements, new chassis and body fabrication, oven painting and detail assembly.

Started as a novelty from Norkis...

Presently becoming more and more as a workhorse in the countryside.....

Its time for Metro Manila to embrace the multicabs.....

Hybrid multicab dubbed ‘poor man’s taxi’ launched

TACLOBAN CITY — After pioneering the assembly of tricycles and multicabs in the country, the Norkis Group has come up with the "poor man’s taxi."
The vehicle, called Spider, was described as a "multi-transport hybrid" of the multicab. It can seat eight and is powered by a 660cc Daihatsu engine.

For only P10 and an additional P5 for every kilometer after five kilometers, a passenger can enjoy the services of a taxi through the Spider.
"It’s a poor man’s taxi. At a rate of P10, one will enjoy the privilege of door-to-door service," said Benjamin Pesons, Norkis area sales manager for Eastern Visayas.

Norkis has tied up with JEGA Corp., which has applied before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for a franchise to operate 20 Spider taxis in Tacloban.

Mr. Pesons said the company will offer the vehicle to other operators as well. The main mode of transportation in Tacloban City is still the tricycle, a motorcycle with a side car made by Norkis.

Outside the city’s business district, the main mode of transport is the multicab, a small passenger jeepney assembled by Norkis from used engines and components from Japan.

"We started in Tacloban because we’ve seen the demand for public transportation. This is in support to the thrust of the government to develop the tourism industry particularly in rural areas," Mr. Pesons said in a press conference.

After Tacloban, the poor man’s taxi will also be introduced in key cities and provinces through Norkis’ retail network of 200 branches and service centers, 200 satellite branches, and 600 dealers.

Norkis officials said the Spider is spacious, comfortable, safe and fuel-efficient. It is sold for P188,000 for automatic transmission and P198,000 for manual transmission with a six-month warranty and guaranteed lifetime spare parts availability. The car weighs 735 kilograms. — Sarwell Q. Meniano
I hope I can see one here in Metro Manila. Im sick and tired of seeing dilapidated jeepneys, tricycles and auvs..

Where are these sold in Pampanga, They are in and around Angles city these days for rent. Now if they put on a turbo and enclosed it with AC for under 225,000, now that would be a deal.

I like the Multivan...but the Supreme looks cool too specially if they make it a 4 door cab with aircon tapos yun back na lang yun lalagyan ng gamit. Lagyan ng stainless bullbar sa harap at likod. Palitan ng mas malapad na Mags at gamitan ng tractor wheels...hay! Ganda siguro nun.

May aircon na ba ito? Kasi kung wala sayang!

This is 1998 Nissan March (micra), right? So this 'Norkis Car' is plainly just a rebadged Nissan.

This already looks quite underpowered with the 660cc non-turbocharged engine. This generation of the Mira is still available brand-new in Morocco and Pakistan with a 850cc engine, that could probably be more suitable...
