newbie - mitsubishi adventure

Good morning po sa lahat, newbie lang po ako sa diesel engine na car. I'm using a Mitsubishi Adventure Grandsport 2003 model na-acquire ko po 2nd hand. Ask ko lang po kung yung coolant ba ng petron na Petromate Super coolant ay pwede gamitin sa adv. ko?..

Gaano po ba kadalas palitan yung power steering fluid? parang napansin ko po kasi parang tumigas ng konti yung steering ko sa manibela after my long drive from ilocos. Recently po nagpalit ako ng bearing sa front wheel, nagpalit in po ako ng ball joint. Please give me an overview/suggestions.

You just acquired the vehicle? Better to change all then fluids (gear, power steering, transmission, differential and coolant). Change also all your belts, fuel and air filters, radiator cap and check your hoses to be sure.

For coolant, any brand like Prestone, Petron, Peak, etc... will do. Flush out all the old coolant and mix a new batch with distilled water.

You normally flush all fluids every 40,000kms (Except the engine oil of course which is more frequent).

Any coolant will do but just don't mix brands para safe and use distilled water.

PSF dapat every 2 years or 40,000 kms nga usual change niya just like the differential oil and manual transmission oil. Engine oil niyan every 5K kms or 6 months whichever come first if you use multigrade oil. Since nagpalit ka ng suspension parts, dapat pa-wheel alignment ka na rin sir.

thank you sa suggestions sir vinj and sir ry_tower... anong klaseng distilled water po sir ry_tower?... nagpalit na rin po ako ng timing belt, air cleaner, at fuel filter.. so far wala naman po tagas sa mga hoses ko.. nagpawheel alignment na rin po ako nung magchange ako ng bearing at ball joints...

ang main concern ko po ngayon e yung sa steering ko, kailangan ko po yata pacheck yung sa power steering ko kasi nung lumabas ako nung saturday biglang umulan ng malakas then napasin ko after 30 minutes ng byahe bigla humirap magsteer, ano po kaya sa palagay nyo may sira?.. hopefully mapatingnan ko this weekend sa talyer.

baka po may manual kayo ng diesel, pashare nyo naman po ako. o di kaya po yung numenclature/diagram ng diesel engine showing the different parts with labels..

Ordinary distille water will do liek the ones in water refilling shops. Wag yung may alkaline pa ha. Dapat kung timing belt pinaitan, sababy na din belt tensioner para sure ka na 90,000 bago ka magpapalit uli.

Sa engine details, meron niya sa net, search ka na lang at may thread na din ng Adventure manual ata or maghanap ka ng kakilala na merong manual nyan at pa-xerox mo. If wala pa din, PM me, matulungan kita to the best of my capability.

Yung steering mo baka kelangan na ng repair kit ng gear box mismo or nung steering pump. Mura lang yun but make sure na magaling yung gagawa at malinis mag-trabaho para hindi sayang if ever na kelangan nga. Check your PS fluid din if nagbabawas at baka yun problem, may loose clamp somewhere causing the leak.
