December 10th, 2007 08:03 PM #1help mga sirs, i was cruising along edsa last saturday night going to monumento. pag dating ng speed between 70-75kph biglang nagwiggle yung ride ko. parang im gonna lose control so nilagay ko agad sa 4thgear then eventually nuetral tapos tinabi ko. kala ko nga na flat ako eh pero hindi naman.
im not sure kung makina ang problem kasi ok pa naman yun. does it have something to do with my alignment? suspension maybe? malaki na kasi free-play ng steering and sabi ng mechanic di na kaya i-adjust papalitan na daw mga pangilalim (balljoints, etc). btw, ride is mistu L300 versa van.
what do you think po? ty

it could be alignment, wheel balance issue. try to have it checked.
how about your tires, baka oblong na.
as to steering free play, kung hindi na kaya iadjust, the rack ad pinion can be overhauled. i dont think though that the steering free play has something to do with the balljoint as mentioned to you by your mechanic.

ok heres a better way to troubleshoot your problem.
1.) make sure that the lug nuts/bolts are tight and torqued down to the right specs (60-80 ft/lbs.)
2.) do a visual inspection, make sure your tires are good.. check if theres any flat spots.. or kung may bukol (oblong). check the tire pressure too.
3.) if the tires are ok (and kung hindi oblong) then try to get the tires balanced (all 4 of them).
4.) kung ok naman ang balancing.. then you should inspect your suspension system (lower & upper control arms, balljoints, bushings, camber bolts, etc..) make sure everything is tight and not bent.
anywayz, do these steps first. its the easiest and cheapest thing to do. wag ka munang mag pa palit ng parts sa suspension.. try to troubleshoot by doing these simple steps.
also, pag nag wi-wiggle ang kotse (youll feel it from your steering wheel when your around 60-70 mph..) most likely that you have a bad wheel balance. then if the car is shaking (pag matagtag..) its usually caused by bad (oblong) tires.. and worn out suspension components. then if the car alwayz sways or wanders on a certain direction (specially if you take your hands off the steering wheel.. or kung tabingi ang steering wheel) most likely that you have a bad Alignment.
hope this info helps.
aite ,peace.
