December 29th, 2004 05:30 PM #1I drive a 94 Mazda 323 car. Its gas gauge pointer points to zero level once it reaches 1/4 gas level and its yellow indicator light does not illuminate. My only gauge if I am running out of gas when the yellow indicator lights illuminates.
How do I fix this problem? Where?

yung "floater mechanism" sa tank defective na or yung mismong gauge defective na rin. mahirap magpalit nyan. dalhin mo na lang sa suking mekaniko mo para mapalitan. mura lang naman yung "floater mech" or the like..............

sometimes the floater can still be fixed. it also needs calibration to correct your indicator. it happened to ny car a year ago, thankfully my mechanic was able to fix it.

have the same problem.
pinaayos ko na yung floater mech ko kaso after a few days ganun pa den. Minsan i fill up the tank pero sa gauge parang 1/3 na lang. Hanggang ngayon ganun pa den, what i do..compute ko na lang liters to kms. para alam ko when to have it filled.. Ahahaha barbaric ang auto ko.

try ninyong mag full tank baka usually 1/4 or up to 1/2 lang pirme pag gas up. eh baka nag stuck na yun floater. try lang ninyo.

February 15th, 2005 12:56 PM #7As the others have stated, the most likely culprit would be the fuel tank float mechanism.
I would have it changed if I were you for peace of mind.

Yung VW namin half pa lang ayaw nang umakyat. Bakit? Yung arm kasi na may buoyant material makes contact with several wires depending on the level. Siguro dahil mas madalas na may contact sa 1/2 and below, nagdeteriorate na yung mga wires at hindi na masyadong nagko-contact. The solution is to replace the entire floater, though di ko pa naasikaso. The orig was 700 pesos maybe 15 years ago. Hehe.
In your case, madalas sigurong nasa 1/4 and below yan.

Buy a new or surplus (working floater). Medyo mahirap iservice ang floater ng mga newer vehicles.
