with regards to your brakes, does it feel spongy when you press the brake pedal? if it is then there most probably is an air bubble in the brake lines. you will need to bleed the brakes to get rid of the air bubble.
white smoke from the exhaust is water. if it just happens in the morning or when it rains (in other words when the humidity is high) then it's just water vapor in the air. as long as you don't have any overheating problems and the radiator water level is normal then you don't have to worry.
as for the power steering fluid, are you sure it is not overfilled in the first place? filling the reservoir above the max level will make the fluid leak through the cap when the fluid gets hot during operation. second, are you using the right steering fluid for your car? 3rd, maybe there is really a leak on the cap, try to check the gasket for damage and replace with a new rubber or a new cap if it is.

well, glad to hear that the smoke is just normal and no huge maintenance is needed...
regarding the brakes, what exactly is the process in bleeding the brakes, sa brake lines ba un? where can it be done? cost?
for the power steering naman, may specific type ba ng fluid na dapat compatible sa car ko, anong brand? para kpag ngdrain ako i know what type to fill it with...

you can bleed the brakes yourself if you know what to look for. first you need maybe 1 liter of brake fluid. put 1 wheel on a stand (dapat stand and not just a jack, baka kasi tumumba pag jack lang) and remove the wheel. start at the 2 front wheels first, one at a time. locate the bleed valve on the brake cylinder of that wheel, it's near the brake line. you will need a metric box wrench to open and close this valve (i think size 5mm). it looks like a grease nipple but not quite. start the engine, have someone press on the brake pedal. even if the brakes are power assist it may need to be "pumped". when the pedal feels hard to step on, bleed the brake line by opening the bleed valve. konti lang ang open, about 1/4 turn. close it again. repeat the process until you can no longer see any air coming out.
repeat the process for the other 3 wheels.
NOTE: keep checking the brake reservoir. brake flud will need to be filled in as the fluid is bled.
NOTE 2: don't let brake fluid come into contact with the car body. it will ruin the paint!
NOTE 3: on the rear drum brakes, the bleed valve will be behind the drum brake housing, near the brake line.
or punta ka na lang sa suking mechanic, especially kung wala kang stand.

December 18th, 2004 07:53 PM #5AFAIK the fluid used for power steering is called ATF (automatic transmission fluid)...same as the fluid/oil used for the automatic tranny.
Choice I would have made as well.
2024 Innova Zenix 2.0 V CVT (non-HEV) vs Innova...
