What is the Difference between RUSTPROOFING & UNDERCOATING?

I just bought a REVO Diesel GLX Year 2000 Model and i want to keep my unit Healthy in any way, buy not yet into Grooming.;)

Well, i would like to ask the difference between the two "RUSTPROOFING VS. UNDERCOATING"

I live in the province and my Unit will also be exposed in rough roads.

1.Whats your best advise in order for me to protect my REVO?
2.What do they do in Rustproofing or Undercoating?How long does it take for each procedure?
3.How much is the Cost of Rustproofing , Undercoating?
4.How often do a Vehicle undergo RustProofing?Undercoating?
5.Which is the best and dependable Shop?for Rustproofing?Undercoating (kay Sir Chieffy syempre)?
6.Any Warranty? i read a thread it says P4,000 for initial Rustproofing then P1,000 for yearly sessions. How about in Undercoating?

undercoating covers only the underside of your vehicle while rustproofing protects the panels (doors, fenders , etc.) of it. rustproofing involves the coating (injection) of chemicals to the backside of the panels. ziebart and tuffcoat dinol are the leading rusproofing companies in the phil. the caltex station along pedro gil street in paco is the leading undercoating specialist this side of town. have you considered electronic rusproofing?

Dude, i read a thread na yearly daw application ng Rustproofing, 1st Application daw, P4K , then followed by P1K na lang for re-application annually...

Sir Chieffy, how about your undercoating Service?he~he~he~ alisin mo na yung discount ha? tapos magkano na yung succeding Yearly re-applications?

Para sa akin kailangan ko talaga ito lalo na't expose yung Toy ko sa rough terrain.

electronic rustproofing yun meron sila ikabit sa chasis ng car mo na electronic device para ang effect eh anodized ang car, meaning electrically charged na mag-repel ng oxidants.

you can do this without the expensive electronic gizmo by just welding inexpensive zinc anode bars to the chasis. same effect, less cost.

offshore din ako pare hehehe! transocean offshore drilling (dating sedco-forex) dito sa indonesia. nag-uwi ako ng zinc rods 2 months ago, round bars, yung gamit namin sa engine cooling system para hindi kainin ng sea water ang tubes. pinukpok ko na lang para maging flat tapos hanap ako ng part dun sa body saka chasis kung saan pwede ikabit ng screw. 3 nilagay ko, 1 sa front chasis, 1 sa back saka 1 sa body. ewan ko lang how effective kasi 2 months pa lang, saka 2002 model car ko.

sabihin ko sa iyo kung effective, paalala mo sa akin after 5 years hehehehe!

Yung pinsan ni misis kasi is asking where he can have his sedan rustproofed. Mahal daw sa casa. Does Ziebart and Tuffcoat have their own shops? Same questions rin ako with eyescube. Referrals and contact numbers of reputable (and affordable) rustproofers please...

1st Application > P4 k daw(depende daw sa type ng vehicle)
then Yearly application> P2K

"sa ziebart ang initial rust proofing nila eh from 8000php to 9000php and lifetime warranty daw... kumpleto din rustproofing nila dahil ni-drill nila mga doors/back doors at mga sealed area sa lower part ng car.. den ang yearly maintenance fee eh nasa 600php para sa reapplication ng rustproofing.."

teka, iba raw ang undercoating at rustproofing. Most Shell and Caltex stations do undercoating, yes. Pero our question is kung Ziebart and Tuff-Kote lang ba ang nag-ru-rustproof...

We're trying to look for a cheaper alternative to the casa eh, without compromising the quality of work...

I just inquired sa agent kanina sa Toyota. The free "rustproofing" they give out sa casa is only undercoating. Factory rustproofed na raw lahat ng brand new units. May warranty rin daw yun, pero di ko natanong ang warranty period or kung meron bang yearly re-application yun...

everytime na bibili ng car sa mga casa eh i-request na yung free rustproofing/undercoating.. sa toyota kasi eh libre na ito..

normally eh 3 years warranty against rust ang mga casa... kaso sa loob ng 3 years eh hindi pa magbuild-up ang rust kahit sa rough road at maputik ka nakatira.. normally the rust will start to appear after 5 years at sa mga part na ni-repair..

sa mga gusto ng murang undercoating eh oks na sa gasoline stations.. pero wala silang warranty .. ziebart at tuffkote lang alam ko nagbibigay ng warranty.. meron mga ilang shops din bigay warranty like scrubby coat..

yung address at contact number ng ziebart eh nasa www.carsavers.com .. walang local website ang tuffkot.. pero meron sya branch sa makati sa may kamagong daw..

so far oks naman ziebart dun sa revo 2000 ng dad ko.. yung 2003 revo namin eh nag-iisip pa din ako kung paparust proof ko sa ziebart or sa tuffkote.. pero mostlikely eh sa ziebart dahil mura yearly application nila..
