Hello, my car emits bluish smoke pag start then mawawala after few seconds. The manipis na usok will appear again only when you hardly rev the engine, pag idle wala usok kahit konti, malinis.

At ngayon, i conclude lang na baka kaya may manipis akong usok kc if that portion is oily, possible na mahigop yun oil na andun papuntang combustion chamber kaya uusok.

Dahil pag park sa gabi, oil is seeping out in your engine pa unti-unti sa buong gabi and it burns off kapag start mo ang kotse sa umaga..

V6, i am refering sa air intake chamber, that is ung chamber after the throttle. Bakit ang dumi nun malagkit na itim, tas nasilip ko and looks like malangis. If this portion is oily, i think hihigupin ito papuntang combustion chamber for Air+fuel mix, pero dahil malangis nga ang intake chamber ko baka kaya nalalngisan ang combustion chamber. Ang tanong, bakit malangis yung intake chmaber ko after the throttle? saan nanggagaling yun? malinis naman ang air filter ko...

hey bro, if the bluish/white smoke comes out of the exhaust after you start up the engine (and it goes away..), then you have a worn Valve Stem Seal and possible worn out Guides as well.

also, those oil and sludge that you see in your Air Intake (mainly inside the Intake Manifold) are from the Crankcase. and those oil residue on your Intake is pretty normal since that those are excess oil pressure / fumes that is vented from the crankcase, and probably got accumulated in the Intake coz of high engine mileage.

anywayz, check if the PCV (Positive Crankase Ventilation) valve if its dirty or clogged up, then replace it if needed.

kbr, emong, thanks sa inputs nyo. But if you listen and drive my car, top overhaul looks like not yet needed. Ang lakas humatak ng car, my last sp plug last for 4 years walang palitan di man lang napundi, pero nagpalit na ko last christmas kahit di pa rin pundi. Mga tropa drove it and my car earned lots of papuri sa lakas ng makina at very responsive daw, at ang kinis daw ng tunog. Sa pagbabasa ko d2 sa thread sabi nga anything like this (very manipis na bluish smoke at very high rev and at start up) is not normal in which i agree.

I went to a reputable shop d2 sa lugar namin, they are group of toyota mechanics (from TOYOTA) na nagtayo ng sarili nilang talyer (5 years in operation na sila), they are known good talyer for toyota engines.

I brought my car, the owner said..."normal lang yan sa mga gli...basta nawawala pag mainit na, dont much worry about it. Then i personally ask the mechanic, he inspect the new spark plugs and also my old spark plugs which i kept. He told me, looks like your valve seal is deterioated a bit but tolerable. Sabi nya possible na your seals get expanded pag umiinit na kaya nawawala smoke after few seconds na start na ang engine. Hindi pa daw nagpupundi ng sp plug yung makina ko kc mild pa lang daw yung problem ng valve seal, he also commented, it is also possible na wala sa timing yung engine kaya di nasusunog lahat ng gas. Tiniming nila yung engine, may nilagay na jumper sa diagnosis (connectado yata yun sa computer box)..then tune up tune up nila, inikot ikot ang distributor while diagnosis sockets has jumper, ito yung nasa instruction sa ilalim ng hood ng kotse..

Kaninang umaga, i start my engine...wala na syang smoke at start up...subukan ko mamaya i-hi rev kung may smoke pa. i drove for few meters, mas lalong gumada andar after ma tune up.

also, the PCV valve is located by the Valve Cover. parang air tube lang ito na may bulitas sa loob, diyan kasi dumadaan ang ang hangin (crankcase pressure) mula sa loob ng makina. anywayz, malalaman mo na stuck-up na ang PCV pag hindi gumagalaw ang bulitas sa loob. pwedeng palitan to ng bago, or linisan mo (using a carb or brake cleaner *if theres available* or simply clean it by dipping it in gasoline <-- Philippine style!! hehehe)

Why not just do a compression test?

KBR, many thanks for the very helful links. I am eager to replace my PCV now.

Theveed, i have no idea kung ano ung compression test? Ano ba giagawa sa ganung test?, may instrumento ba na kinakabit?

what is causing this?
