February 13th, 2004 01:19 AM #1My local battery crapped out again, as I expected on the 21st month on a 20 month warranty. I've always wondered why local batteries crap out just around the time the warranty expires.
I suspect that due to the limited market, the battery makers make sure their products do crap out every two years or so. Para bili ng bili tayo lahat. Planned destruction not obsolesence. Opinions please.
I decided for a change, to install a U.S. AC Delco battery bought from S&R--remembering that those Delcos were guaranteed for a minimum of 48 months and max of 72 for the premium type.
Gulat ko when all they were giving as a warranty was, you guessed it 2 years! I asked the manager sabi nya kaya two years
ma trapik raw dito(walang ganyan sa States) sabi ko have you gotten stuck in hot and dry LA traffic?meron don.
Hindi mainit daw masyado dito(walang ganyan sa States!) how about Arizona? la bang Delco batts don?
I even told him the packaging had the familiar "60" number which refers to 5 yr warranty. (Walang ganyan sa Pinas) We get screwed again.
Let's see if it will last longer than 2 years.Last edited by ezgrand; February 13th, 2004 at 01:21 AM.

siguro nga tsambahan na rin sa pagbili ng baterya yan, yung nakakabit sa aking motolite excel ay malakas pa rin kahit pa lampas 2 yrs na ito in service, while yung motolite gold naman na nakakabit sa sasakyan nu utol ko ay kulay pula na yung bat. indicator wala pa itong 1 year in service.

I suggest that you just buy a moderately priced local battery. AC Delco is the original equipment and parts supplier for GM (it is a GM subsidy). And we all know how great GM's reliability record is.
I just use a Motolite Enforcer battery. Yung ginagamit ng mga delivery truck at schoolbus. They do last more than two years naman despite me driving with the headlamps on and having an amplifier-powered sound system.
And yes, may traffic sa States. Na-traffic na ko dun. At mas mainit pa sa Pinas ang summer (no wonder may mga namamatay sa heat wave).

Super Power? Di ba matagal nang obsolete ito sa line-up models ng Motolite ito? They used to be great batteries and mostly used by diesel engines.
