may naka experience na ba ng ganitong noise. when driving and the gas pedal is pressed there's a faint clicking or ticking noise. i'm not sure lang kung engine related. no noise when parked in neutral or when i try to rev the engine in neutral. no noise din if coasting in neutral. only happens when in gear from 2nd onwards. thanks!

Parang pebbles in a can? Could be detonation or "tope". What car? What fuel do you use? When was the last tune-up? What is your ignition timing setting?

to test kung ignition timing o tope, try to load up on the next higher variant of octane of fuel.

Kung nasa gulong or brakes, usually consistent yung sound even if he was coasting in neutral, AFAIK.

Direct ignition na yung IDSI engines so no need to adjust timing (wala nang distributor na magagalaw). Next is to load up on the next grade fuel and check your spark plugs. Try also another gas station and fuel brand. In my case, my friend's 2011 City 1.3L was getting a bad case of tope using Petron unleaded (91 octane); she she switched to Shell Fuel Save and the tope went away. I also had the same problem with my Altis on Petron XCS, may tope na lumalabas in the last few months under certain driving conditions. I'm now using Shell Nitro+ and the tope issue went away.

    Hi guys,

if anyone of you could help me... may kalampag na yung auto ko (1 year na sa akin) 96 model lancer glxi.. when I went to greasebee cainta and rapide taytay, rizal parehas lang yung inspection nila need na palitan yung suspension system ng kotse ko pero ang quote sa akin is 21K and 27K respectively. Kaso madaming negative feedback sa kanila eh.. so hindi ko na alam kung saan pa ako pde magpatingin na trustworthy at magaling na auto service center around rizal... so kung meron po kayong kakilala, please pa recommend naman... Thanks a lot.

sir, did you feel any difference while driving your car nung may tope? sa akin kasi ok naman in terms of gas consumption (around 10-12 km/l), acceleration and going uphill except for that clicking sound.

I dunno but it seems to me Petron fuel deteriorated (save for the Blaze 100). I've been a Petron user for over ten years and now our cars seem to respond better with the additives of Shell to their fuel.

mukhang worn/loose outboard cv joint sakin iyan. yung noise could be due to the cv joints' plunging action.

sir question lang, if it's the outer cv joint i read in the internet na yung ingay mas lalakas when turning? sa akin kasi wala naman. the noise happens during acceleration lang or gas is pressed.

Those are very worn out CV joints. A worn out CV joint will produce clicking noises when the vehicle is turning on either side. VERY worn out CV joints will produce clicking noises kahit nakaderecho pa ang gulong.

Don't wait for those CV joints to self destruct, the consequences could be life threatening.
