To take advantage of the strut bar, you may want to install some other parts which works in 'conjunction' with the strut bar.

IMHO, strut bar alone doesnt do much unless you have a thicker swaybar, stiffer springs, shortened shocks, ALC, poly bushings, heavy-duty endlinks, heavy-duty mounts, better tires. Heck, you can even change over and understeer by just adjusting the psi on front and rear tires.

IMHO, STB alone is just an eye-candy. STB is just to tie everything after doing the rest of the components. Lets just say, install the STB to finish your suspension upgrade.

Another thing to consider is "are you fast enough on turns that you need to support your stock suspension?" If you are not fast enough, then STB is just an eye-candy for your application.

If were are to ask me, you will benefit more on under-brace than the STB.

In addition, if your car's firewall is in close proximity of your strut tower, then STB is definitely an eye-candy. (WRX for example) In your case, 1999 civic, it will work far better than any car who's firewall is in close proximity. But like I said, start with the rest of the suspension components first.

Of course, people with STB alone in their car will dispute my opinion, I bet you my left nut they will.
