have no idea... the repair kit used by the casa had an FS01 part number (all the mazda 626 parts from the rubber grommets to the distributor have FS01 as the first part of their part number). so i assume OEM talaga yun. one would think the casa wouldn't be so stupid as to repair-kit a corroded master cylinder though. :P

i would suspect nasa 8k range din yung master cylinder ng 626 since the clutch master is 4500 (although i used a replacement clutch master that cost 1000 and it certainly has lasted much longer than that %^!!$ casa repair kit!)

You'd be surprised at how stupid things can get at the stealership. Especially kung first rotation pa lang ng mga OJT's and newbie techs.

Yup. But casas have OJT on rotation so paiba iba talaga ang tao dun. It's not like a shop say like Mang Mario or Cruven na kahit kelan ka pumunta dun, sila at sila pa din ang hahawak sa oto mo.

And for the week it was there, how much time did it actually spend being worked on? I guess we will never know since we cannot watch our vehicles at the dealership.

That's why I never have the stealer do the servicing.

glennster, it's a mazda 626. everything about this car is expensive (except, it's residual value, so i'm not selling it kasi sobrang lugi na ako nun).

as for the stealer.. actually it went to the stealer because the banawe shop (sprint) gave up on it (you might recall, i was complaining of binding front brakes here last november).

sometimes i wonder if it's worthwhile maintaining this old car. imagine, when i was in banawe last saturday.. i'd just pulled into sprint's service bay and they asked me to re-position the car. and it wouldn't start!!! engine just turned over. guess what.. the FUEL PUMP WIRING failed (under the back seat). So they said i needed an electrician and should they get one. $%$#! i went there for brakes not a fuel pump.

anyway, to cut the story short, i rewired the $%# fuel pump right there with some spare wires in my glove compartment (helps to be an EE). then they said it's too late in the day for me to have the brakes fixed. so i have to leave.

sorry! we're only open mon-sat from 9-6. hope you've made arrangements na for your car coz it's hard as hell to drive it in that condition! better nga have it fixed near your place and avoid an accident rather than risk the drive over goodluck with it!
