Change to newer wire considere a thicker wire (12 or 14 gauge).

technical term for that wire is "pig tail" braided wire with thread inside specifically designed for speakers since they move in cycles.. normally they wore out due to wear and tear, and when the car is parked under the sun causing the wires to become brittle.. you cannot use ordinary wires, it will impede the movement of the speaker cone and will cause rattling noise

^^ +1 theres no use of soldering the wire kasi iba talaga stranded wires to ordinary once.

by putol, do you mean that naputol sa hatak o putol sa init? if sa hatak, no prob na gamitin same gauge ng wires pero kung sa init... get a thicker wire.
