    Guys help!

My wife has difficulty driving our Pajero Fieldmaster (PhDM) because her foot cannot reach the accelerator and brake pedals, as well as the steering wheel even if the seat adjustments (and the steering adjustments) are already fully extended. I've read from other sites that i need to remove the seat rails & braces and re-bore another holes further forward to re-fix again the seats,,,ouch!

Will there be alternatives other than this?

    Tia!

aside from buying her a new car which she can reach, i think the only way is to rebore the rails...

if she can't reach the brake pedals then please don't let her drive.

either drill new holes on the floor or drill new holes on the rails.

if you don't mind, sir TS.

I saw an option available on fords that allows the pedals be adjusted (bent forward) para maabot ng paa.

Or buy special driving shoes with 6inch soles.

There should be ample space between her body and the steering wheel for safety purposes. Either fabricate pedal extenders or buy a compact car.

Delikado rin si misis kapag sobrang lapit sa manibela, especially when the airbags burst.

    Two things:

    1. You buy her a smaller car ; or...
    2. You hire her a driver instead

    Safe both ways.

please take no offense. you match the shoe to the foot, not the other way around. same as a former co-worker who drove a suzuki forsa when he was weighing at a whopping 280 pounds. comfort and safety is what it is all about above the bling or glamour.

thanks for all your advise guys!

she uses the city type z as her daily drive, minsan lang naman nya kailangan idrive yun rig lalo na out of town long drives para palitan kami.

regarding special shoes,,,hmm ok sana kaya lang tingin ko hindi na magiging natural ang feel nya sa mga pedals,,,mukhang hindi safe? regarding naman sa extended pedals,,,prob naman if ako na ang gagamit. with regards to the visibility naman, the power seat have height adjustments naman kaya no prob po ito.

from the above suggestions, the only safe option are really to bore another holes on my rigs flooring to accommodate the seat rails forward. the only concern is that sana umabot yun electrical connections ng power seat nya.

in indiana jones and the temple of doom, they strapped blocks of wood onto the pedals, so's shorty can drive... heh heh.
but seriously, even if you manage to modify the seat, there may still be the problem of the steering wheel, and the visibility thru the front windshield..
i guess she might be destined for the smaller cars in motoring life..
and i do like the way honda allows telescoping the steering wheel in and out.. it's a godsend for us beer bellies..
Heeyyy... ever try an automatic suv? it's one less pedal to worry over.. and i am confident someone out there knows how to modify pedals for vertically challenged drivers..

medyo old fashioned kasi ako sir, i prefer preserving the overall oem look of the rig.

Na try nyo na sir mag lagay pillow and/or lumbar cushion sa likod para ma adjust seating position?in effect she will sit sa mid portion ng seat, close the distance to the pedals and rest her back na sa pillow/cushion. downside nito is walang rest for upper back.

we tried it na sir once, ok naman daw for some time but hindi sha comfortable (niloko pa nga nya ko parang naka-stroller daw! ).

plus i figured in the event of a collision, hindi masusuportahan yun head nya agains backlash.

    thanks po!

    Ok, another try.
Instead of cutting the feet of the chair, make another base plate na dun mo ikakabit yung dating turnilyuhan ng mga paa, at dun sa extension ng base plate din ituturnilyo yung dating pinagkakabitan sa flooring!

Car seat far from pedals and steering wheel
